牠中間雇傭的兵也像圈裏養肥的牛犢；因為就在他們遭遇災難的日子、受察罰關頭臨到他們身上時，他們也竟轉身、一齊逃跑，沒有站住。

其中僱卒、猶闌中之犢、咸卻退遁逃、而不堅立、因其患難之日、受罰之時至矣、

彼以金募壯士、俱若肥牛、災害既臨、敗北而遁、不能禦敵。

其中募卒、亦若肥犢、災害之日既至、患難之時既臨、則咸轉身而遁、不立而禦敵、

The mercenaries in her ranks are like fattened calves. They too will turn and flee together, they will not stand their ground, for the day of disaster is coming upon them, the time for them to be punished.

Hired soldiers are in Egypt’s army. They are like fat calves. All of them will turn and run away. They will not hold their positions. The day of trouble is coming on them. The time for them to be punished is near.

Even her hired soldiers in her midst are like fattened calves; yes, they have turned and fled together; they did not stand, for the day of their calamity has come upon them, the time of their punishment.

Egypt’s mercenaries have become like fattened calves. They, too, will turn and run, for it is a day of great disaster for Egypt, a time of great punishment.

Even her mercenaries among her are like stall-fed calves. They too will turn back; together they will flee; they will not take their stand, for the day of their calamity is coming on them, the time of their punishment.

Also her mercenaries in her midst Are like fattened calves, For they too have turned away and have fled together; They did not stand their ground. For the day of their disaster has come upon them, The time of their punishment.

因為主使亞蘭人的軍隊聽見戰車戰馬的聲音，大軍的聲音，他們就彼此說：「看哪，這必是以色列王雇用赫人諸王和埃及諸王來攻擊我們。」

我為何看見他們驚惶，轉身退後呢？他們的勇士打敗仗，急忙逃跑，並不回頭；四圍都有驚嚇！這是耶和華說的。

我子民遭災的日子，你不該進他們的城門；他們遭災的日子，你不該瞪着眼看他們受苦；他們遭災的日子，你不該伸手搶他們的財物。

但主必笑他，因見他受罰的日子將要來到。

降罰的日子近了，報應的時候已經來到。以色列必知道，先知愚昧，受靈感動的人狂妄，皆因你多多作惡，大懷怨恨。

要殺它一切的牛犢，使牠們下去遭殺戮。他們有禍了，因為他們的日子，就是他們受罰的時刻已經來到。

亞捫人看到大衛憎惡他們，就派人去雇用伯‧利合的亞蘭人和瑣巴的亞蘭人，步兵二萬，以及瑪迦王的人一千、陀伯人一萬二千。

「那些躺臥在象牙床上，舒身在榻上的，吃羣中的羔羊和棚裏的牛犢。

他們當中最好的，不過像蒺藜；最正直的，不過如荊棘籬笆。你守候的日子，懲罰已經來到，他們必擾亂不安。

野牛與他們一起倒下，牛犢和壯牛也一同倒下。他們的地被血染遍，他們的塵土因油脂肥潤。

有愛，吃素菜，強如相恨，吃肥牛。

在仇敵面前，我必如東風颳散他們，遭難的日子，我要以背向他們，不以臉看他們。」

到降罰的日子，災禍從遠方臨到，那時，你們要怎麼辦呢？你們要向誰逃奔求救呢？你們的財寶要存放何處呢？

馬匹啊，上去吧！戰車啊，要疾行！手拿盾牌的古實和弗的勇士，擅長拉弓的路德人，前進吧！」

搶奪我產業的啊，你們因歡喜快樂，像踹穀嬉戲的母牛犢，又像發嘶聲的壯馬。

你的壯士為何被掃除呢？他們站立不住，因為耶和華驅逐他們；他使多人絆跌，彼此撞倒。他們說：「起來，讓我們回到自己的同胞、回到自己的出生地去，好躲避欺壓的刀劍。」

因為你永懷仇恨，在以色列人遭遇災難、罪孽到了盡頭時，把他們交給刀劍，

「波斯人、路德人、弗人在你的軍營中作戰士；他們在你們中間懸掛盾牌和頭盔，彰顯你的尊榮。亞發人和你的軍隊都駐守在四圍的城牆上，你的城樓上也有勇士；他們懸掛盾牌，成全你的美麗。

必有刀劍臨到埃及；被殺的人仆倒在埃及時，古實人顫驚不已。埃及的財富遭擄掠，根基被拆毀。古實人、弗人、路德人、混居的各族和古伯人，以及盟國的人都要與埃及人一同倒在刀下。「耶和華如此說：扶助埃及的必傾倒，埃及驕傲的權勢必降為卑，從密奪到色弗尼，人必倒在刀下。這是主耶和華說的。

「耶書崙漸漸肥胖，能踼跳。你長得肥胖，粗壯，豐潤。他離棄造他的上帝，輕看救他的磐石。
