Should you then seek great things for yourself? Do not seek them. For I will bring disaster on all people, declares the Lord, but wherever you go I will let you escape with your life.’”

然敬虔而知足、其利大矣、蓋我儕入世、無所攜來、逝世亦無所攜去、惟有衣食即當知足、圖富有者、乃陷於誘惑機檻、及無知有害之諸慾、溺人於滅亡者也、

北方遠近諸王、爰及天下萬國、厥後、示沙克王亦飲焉、

故我語汝、勿慮生何以食、何以飲、身何以衣、夫生非大於食、身非大於衣乎、試觀飛鳥、不稼不穡、不積於廩、爾天父且育之、爾豈不尤貴於鳥乎、爾曹誰能以思慮延生一刻乎、曷為衣慮耶、試思野之百合花、如何而長、不勞不紡、我語汝、當所羅門榮華之極、所衣不及此花之一也、夫野草今日尚存、明日投爐、上帝猶衣之若此、況於爾小信者乎、故勿慮何以食、何以飲、何以衣、此皆異邦人所求、爾天父知爾悉需之、

上帝見世敗壞、凡有血氣者、行為邪僻、○

蓋耶和華以火與刃、罰凡有血氣者、為耶和華所戮者眾、

曰、其人下車、轉而迓爾時、我心豈不偕往乎、是時豈可受銀與衣、以購橄欖園、葡萄園、牛羊僕婢乎、

我意因今時之艱、守其素者為善、既繫於婦、勿求釋、未繫於婦、勿求娶、爾娶非罪、處女嫁亦非罪、但若輩身必遭難、願爾免之、兄弟乎、我姑言之、時日促矣、今而後有妻者當如無妻、哭者如無哭、喜者如無喜、購者如無有、用此世者如不妄用、蓋斯世之情狀逝矣、我欲爾無所慮、無妻者慮主之事、如何悅主、

耶和華曰、爾宜俟我、迨我起而虜掠之日、蓋我已定志、招集諸族、會聚諸國、傾我忿恚、洩我烈怒於其上、全地將為我憤嫉之火所滅、
