Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for Jehovah hath added sorrow to my pain; I am weary with my groaning, and I find no rest.

You said,‘ Woe to me! The Lord has added sorrow to my pain; I am worn out with groaning and find no rest.’

‘ You have said,“ How terrible it is for me! The Lord has added sorrow to my pain. I’m worn out from all my groaning. I can’t find any rest.” ’

You said,‘ Woe is me! For the Lord has added sorrow to my pain. I am weary with my groaning, and I find no rest.’

You have said,‘ I am overwhelmed with trouble! Haven’t I had enough pain already? And now the Lord has added more! I am worn out from sighing and can find no rest.’

‘ You have said,“ Woe is me, because the LORD has added misery to my pain! I am worn out with groaning and have found no rest.”’

‘ You said,“ Oh, woe to me! For the Lord has added grief to my pain; I am weary with my groaning and have found no rest.” ’

‘ You said,“ Woe is me now! For the Lord has added grief to my sorrow. I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.”’

‘ You have said,“ Woe is me, because the Lord has added misery to my pain! I am worn out with groaning and have found no rest.”’

Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.

‘ You have said,“ I feel so hopeless! For the LORD has added sorrow to my suffering. I am worn out from groaning. I can’t find any rest.”’”

‘ You said,“ Woe is me now! For Yahweh has added sorrow to my pain! I am weary with my groaning, and I find no rest.”’

Therefore seeing we have this ministry, even as we obtained mercy, we faint not:

Wherefore we faint not; but though our outward man is decaying, yet our inward man is renewed day by day.

And let us not be weary in well- doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

For consider him that hath endured such gainsaying of sinners against himself, that ye wax not weary, fainting in your souls.Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin:and ye have forgotten the exhortation which reasoneth with you as with sons, My son, regard not lightly the chastening of the Lord, Nor faint when thou art reproved of him;

Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

Let all their wickedness come before thee; And do unto them, as thou hast done unto me for all my transgressions: For my sighs are many, and my heart is faint.

I am weary with my crying; my throat is dried: Mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.

Even to- day is my complaint rebellious: My stroke is heavier than my groaning.

Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have not lent, neither have men lent to me; yet every one of them doth curse me.Jehovah said, Verily I will strengthen thee for good; verily I will cause the enemy to make supplication unto thee in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.Can one break iron, even iron from the north, and brass?Thy substance and thy treasures will I give for a spoil without price, and that for all thy sins, even in all thy borders.And I will make them to pass with thine enemies into a land which thou knowest not; for a fire is kindled in mine anger, which shall burn upon you.O Jehovah, thou knowest; remember me, and visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors; take me not away in thy longsuffering: know that for thy sake I have suffered reproach.Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy words were unto me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by thy name, O Jehovah, God of hosts.I sat not in the assembly of them that make merry, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of thy hand; for thou hast filled me with indignation.Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuseth to be healed? wilt thou indeed be unto me as a deceitful brook, as waters that fail?Therefore thus saith Jehovah, If thou return, then will I bring thee again, that thou mayest stand before me; and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth: they shall return unto thee, but thou shalt not return unto them.And I will make thee unto this people a fortified brazen wall; and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee to save thee and to deliver thee, saith Jehovah.And I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.

And Jacob rent his garments, and put sackcloth upon his loins, and mourned for his son many days.And all his sons and all his daughters rose up to comfort him; but he refused to be comforted; and he said, For I will go down to Sheol to my son mourning. And his father wept for him.

And Joshua said, Alas, O Lord Jehovah, wherefore hast thou at all brought this people over the Jordan, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to cause us to perish? would that we had been content and dwelt beyond the Jordan!Oh, Lord, what shall I say, after that Israel hath turned their backs before their enemies!For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of it, and will compass us round, and cut off our name from the earth: and what wilt thou do for thy great name?

O Jehovah, thou hast persuaded me, and I was persuaded; thou art stronger than I, and hast prevailed: I am become a laughing- stock all the day, every one mocketh me.For as often as I speak, I cry out; I cry, Violence and destruction! because the word of Jehovah is made a reproach unto me, and a derision, all the day.And if I say, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name, then there is in my heart as it were a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I am weary with forbearing, and I cannot contain.For I have heard the defaming of many, terror on every side. Denounce, and we will denounce him, say all my familiar friends, they that watch for my fall; peradventure he will be persuaded, and we shall prevail against him, and we shall take our revenge on him.But Jehovah is with me as a mighty one and a terrible: therefore my persecutors shall stumble, and they shall not prevail; they shall be utterly put to shame, because they have not dealt wisely, even with an everlasting dishonor which shall never be forgotten.But, O Jehovah of hosts, that triest the righteous, that seest the heart and the mind, let me see thy vengeance on them; for unto thee have I revealed my cause.Sing unto Jehovah, praise ye Jehovah; for he hath delivered the soul of the needy from the hand of evil- doers.Cursed be the day wherein I was born: let not the day wherein my mother bare me be blessed.Cursed be the man who brought tidings to my father, saying, A man- child is born unto thee; making him very glad.And let that man be as the cities which Jehovah overthrew, and repented not: and let him hear a cry in the morning, and shouting at noontime;because he slew me not from the womb; and so my mother would have been my grave, and her womb always great.Wherefore came I forth out of the womb to see labor and sorrow, that my days should be consumed with shame?

I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of Jehovah In the land of the living.

But ye, brethren, be not weary in well- doing.

I remember God, and am disquieted: I complain, and my spirit is overwhelmed.[ SelahThou holdest mine eyes watching: I am so troubled that I cannot speak.

Woe is me, that I sojourn in Meshech, That I dwell among the tents of Kedar!

I am weary with my groaning; Every night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears.

And Moses said unto Jehovah, Wherefore hast thou dealt ill with thy servant? and wherefore have I not found favor in thy sight, that thou layest the burden of all this people upon me?Have I conceived all this people? have I brought them forth, that thou shouldest say unto me, Carry them in thy bosom, as a nursing- father carrieth the sucking child, unto the land which thou swarest unto their fathers?Whence should I have flesh to give unto all this people? for they weep unto me, saying, Give us flesh, that we may eat.I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand, if I have found favor in thy sight; and let me not see my wretchedness.

And Jacob their father said unto them, Me have ye bereaved of my children: Joseph is not, and Simeon is not, and ye will take Benjamin away: all these things are against me.And Reuben spake unto his father, saying, Slay my two sons, if I bring him not to thee: deliver him into my hand, and I will bring him to thee again.And he said, My son shall not go down with you; for his brother is dead, and he only is left: if harm befall him by the way in which ye go, then will ye bring down my gray hairs with sorrow to Sheol.

Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterfalls: All thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.

If thou faint in the day of adversity, Thy strength is small.

God delivereth me to the ungodly, And casteth me into the hands of the wicked.I was at ease, and he brake me asunder; Yea, he hath taken me by the neck, and dashed me to pieces: He hath also set me up for his mark.His archers compass me round about; He cleaveth my reins asunder, and doth not spare; He poureth out my gall upon the ground.

Oh that I could comfort myself against sorrow! my heart is faint within me.

For though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.

From on high hath he sent fire into my bones, and it prevaileth against them; He hath spread a net for my feet, he hath turned me back: He hath made me desolate and faint all the day.

I am the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.He hath led me and caused me to walk in darkness, and not in light.Surely against me he turneth his hand again and again all the day.My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones.He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.He hath made me to dwell in dark places, as those that have been long dead.He hath walled me about, that I cannot go forth; he hath made my chain heavy.Yea, when I cry, and call for help, he shutteth out my prayer.He hath walled up my ways with hewn stone; he hath made my paths crooked.He is unto me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in secret places.He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces; he hath made me desolate.He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.He hath caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my reins.I am become a derision to all my people, and their song all the day.He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath sated me with wormwood.He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones; he hath covered me with ashes.And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace; I forgat prosperity.And I said, My strength is perished, and mine expectation from Jehovah.Remember mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
