Azariah son of Hoshaiah and Johanan son of Kareah and all the arrogant men said to Jeremiah,“ You are lying! The Lord our God has not sent you to say,‘ You must not go to Egypt to settle there.’

After that, Azariah, the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, spoke to Jeremiah. And all the proud men joined them. They said,“ You are lying! The Lord our God hasn’t sent you to speak to us. He hasn’t told you to say,‘ You must not go to Egypt and make your homes there.’

Azariah the son of Hoshaiah and Johanan the son of Kareah and all the insolent men said to Jeremiah,“ You are telling a lie. The Lord our God did not send you to say,‘ Do not go to Egypt to live there,’

Azariah son of Hoshaiah and Johanan son of Kareah and all the other proud men said to Jeremiah,“ You lie! The Lord our God hasn’t forbidden us to go to Egypt!

then Azariah son of Hoshaiah, Johanan son of Kareah, and all the other arrogant men responded to Jeremiah,“ You are speaking a lie! The LORD our God has not sent you to say,‘ You must not go to Egypt to stay there for a while!’

Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the arrogant men said to Jeremiah,“ You are telling a lie! The Lord our God has not sent you to say,‘ You are not to enter Egypt to reside there’;

that Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men spoke, saying to Jeremiah,“ You speak falsely! The Lord our God has not sent you to say,‘ Do not go to Egypt to dwell there.’

then spake Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely: Jehovah our God hath not sent thee to say, Ye shall not go into Egypt to sojourn there;

then Azariah son of Hoshaiah, Johanan son of Kareah, and all the other arrogant men responded to Jeremiah,“ You are speaking a lie! The Lord our God has not sent you to say,‘ You must not go to Egypt to live there for a while!’

Then spake Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely: the LORD our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there:

Then Azariah son of Hoshaiah, Johanan son of Kareah, and other arrogant men said to Jeremiah,“ You are telling a lie! The LORD our God did not send you to tell us,‘ You must not go to Egypt and settle there.’

then Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men spoke, saying to Jeremiah,“ You speak falsely. Yahweh our God has not sent you to say,‘ You shall not go into Egypt to live there;’

尼布甲尼撒王使其指天主而誓、必永臣服、乃叛之、強項不馴、剛愎厥心、不歸主以色列之天主、

彼不認主、謂主無有、自言災害不臨我、不遇鋒刃、不遭饑饉、先知所言、非由神感、必顯為空虛若風、彼所遭遇者若此、

主斥責當受詛之驕傲人、因違背主之誡命、

敬畏主即惡惡也、驕傲、狂妄、邪道、乖謬之口、皆我所厭惡、

然彼賜恩尤大、故曰、天主擯斥驕傲者、賜恩於謙卑者、

目驕傲、舌詭譎、手流無辜人之血、

心驕必敗、氣傲必躓、心卑者與謙遜人來往、勝於與驕傲者分財、

尼探雅子以實瑪利、既殺亞希甘子基大利、自米斯巴擄諸遺民、戰士、婦女、嬰孩、宦官至基遍、加利亞子約哈難、與所率之諸軍長、救之歸、遂以斯眾攜至金罕旅所、金罕旅所或作基羅特金罕近伯利恆、暫居於彼、欲往伊及、

爾仍強拘我民、不釋之去、

驕傲者、其心不正直、惟義者、以信得生、惟彼敵人、貪酒作孽、驕傲不安、放縱情慾、永不知足、猶如示阿勒、示阿勒有譯黃泉有譯陰府有譯墳墓彷彿死地、並吞列邦、使諸邦國、歸其統轄、並吞列邦使諸邦國歸其統轄原文作聚列邦集諸國歸於己

心驕者主所惡、其子其孫、難免有罪、

安逸人之嬉笑、驕傲人之藐視、我儕受之已極、

口唇油滑、舌端誇大者、主必勦滅、

使眾百姓、以法蓮及撒瑪利亞居民悉知之、彼心驕氣傲、常自言曰、甎墻傾圮、我以石建、野無花果樹斬伐、我代以柏香木、

法老曰、誰為耶和華使我聽其命、而釋以色列民、我不識耶和華亦不釋以色列民、

耶利米曰、爾曹當聽、傾耳而聽、勿狂傲、蓋此乃主所言、

耶利米以天主之言告民眾、即主耶和華遣其諭之言、宣言既竟、

爾為少者、當服老者、老者或作長老皆以謙卑為衣衣之、互相順服、經云、驕傲者、天主拒之、謙卑者、天主賜之以恩、

加利亞子約哈難、及田野之諸武士長、至米斯巴見基大利、告之曰、亞捫王巴利斯、遣尼探雅子以實瑪利殺爾、爾知之乎、亞希甘子基大利不信之、加利亞子約哈難在米斯巴私語基大利曰、容我往殺尼探雅子以實瑪利、必無人知之、何可待其殺爾、使集於爾所之猶大人四散、以致猶大之遺民盡亡、亞希甘子基大利、謂加利亞子約哈難曰、爾所言誣以實瑪利、爾不可行此事、

惡人心驕氣傲、無所顧慮、其思念所致、以為無天主、凡其所行、時常亨通、主之責罰、離之高遠、遂藐視一切仇敵、

我若富、恐我飽而不認主、云主為誰、我若貧、恐我盜竊、以致妄稱我天主之名、○
