今我請爾、諮諏我之上帝耶和華、彼所命者、無論其得我心與否、我必聽從、望得亨通。

Whether it is favorable or unfavorable, we will obey the Lord our God, to whom we are sending you, so that it will go well with us, for we will obey the Lord our God.”

惟命之以此、曰、爾其聽我言、我必為爾之天主、爾將為我之民、遵行我所命爾之道、必可蒙福、

願其常存此心畏我、恆守我諸誡命、則可與子孫永遠得福、

惟行主爾天主所命爾之道、則可保生獲福、亦可長居於爾將得之地、

然則何言、律法即罪乎、非也、然非由律法、我不識罪、律法若不云勿貪、則我不識貪、

以約書誦與民聽、民曰、凡主所命之言、我必聽從遵行、

使爾與子孫畢生敬畏主爾之天主、守其一切律例誡命、即我所命爾者、致爾壽命綿長、以色列人當聽、此一切爾皆當謹守遵行、如此則可於流乳與蜜之地享福昌熾、如主爾祖之天主所許爾者、

爾食以己手勤勞所得者、即為有福、必處佳境、

然則善者可致我死乎、非也、乃罪藉善者使我死、以顯罪之為罪、致罪因誡愈形其惡者也、

我民若肯聽從我、以色列人若肯遵行我道、我即速敗其仇、攻擊其敵、使憾主之人、亦自歸順、使我民之年代、永久不絕、我必將嘉麥賜以為食、並使其飽飫自磐而出之蜜、

體肉體、乃與天主為仇、因不服天主之法、且不能服也、

民對約書亞曰、我願崇事主我之天主、聽從其言、

爾宜語義者、必蒙福、必享己行之果報、
