约押对亚玛撒说：“兄弟，你好吗？”他用右手抓住亚玛撒的胡子，亲吻他。亚玛撒毫无防备，被约押一刀刺入肚子，肚破肠流而死。然后，约押和他兄弟亚比筛继续追赶比基利的儿子示巴。

火热的嘴，邪恶的心，犹如瓦器镀了层银。怨恨人的用美言掩饰自己，心中却藏着诡诈。纵然他甜言蜜语，你也不可信他，因为他心中充满各种可憎之事。虽然他用诡计掩饰怨恨，他的邪恶必被会众揭穿。

对他说：“亚扪王巴利斯派尼探雅的儿子以实玛利来杀你，你知道吗？”亚希甘的儿子基大利却不相信他们的话。后来，加利亚的儿子约哈难在米斯巴私下对基大利说：“让我去杀掉尼探雅的儿子以实玛利吧！没人会知道。何必让他来杀害你，以致汇集到你这里的犹大余民再度分散、灭亡呢？”但亚希甘的儿子基大利说：“你不可杀他，你说他要杀我这件事不是真的。”

七月，王室后裔以利沙玛的孙子、尼探雅的儿子以实玛利带着十个人在米斯巴刺杀了基大利以及跟他一起的犹大人和迦勒底人。

自高自大招惹纷争，虚心受教才是睿智。

耶稣还在说话的时候，十二使徒中的犹大已带着一群人赶到，他上前亲吻耶稣。耶稣对他说：“犹大，你用亲吻的暗号来出卖人子吗？”

他们对我以恶报善，以恨报爱。

暴怒固然残酷，愤恨好比狂澜，然而嫉妒更是无人能敌。

押尼珥回到希伯仑的时候，约押就把他带到城门的瓮洞，装作与他密谈，乘机用短剑刺入他的肚子，把他杀死了，为他兄弟亚撒黑报了仇。
