In that day they will roar over it like the roaring of the sea. And if one looks at the land, there is only darkness and distress; even the sun will be darkened by clouds. (niv)

I will show wonders in the heavens and on the earth, blood and fire and billows of smoke.The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. (niv)

The highways are deserted, no travelers are on the roads. The treaty is broken, its witnesses are despised, no one is respected.The land dries up and wastes away, Lebanon is ashamed and withers; Sharon is like the Arabah, and Bashan and Carmel drop their leaves. (niv)

At noon, darkness came over the whole land until three in the afternoon. (niv)

The anger of the Lord will not turn back until he fully accomplishes the purposes of his heart. In days to come you will understand it clearly. (niv)

I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. Who will mourn for you? Who will stop to ask how you are?You have rejected me,” declares the Lord.“ You keep on backsliding. So I will reach out and destroy you; I am tired of holding back.I will winnow them with a winnowing fork at the city gates of the land. I will bring bereavement and destruction on my people, for they have not changed their ways.I will make their widows more numerous than the sand of the sea.
