So they took Jeremiah and put him into the cistern of Malkijah, the king’s son, which was in the courtyard of the guard. They lowered Jeremiah by ropes into the cistern; it had no water in it, only mud, and Jeremiah sank down into the mud.

So they took Jeremiah and put him into an empty well. It belonged to Malkijah. He was a member of the royal court. His well was in the courtyard of the guard. Zedekiah’s men lowered Jeremiah by ropes into the well. It didn’t have any water in it. All it had was mud. And Jeremiah sank down into the mud.

So they took Jeremiah and cast him into the cistern of Malchiah, the king’s son, which was in the court of the guard, letting Jeremiah down by ropes. And there was no water in the cistern, but only mud, and Jeremiah sank in the mud.

So the officials took Jeremiah from his cell and lowered him by ropes into an empty cistern in the prison yard. It belonged to Malkijah, a member of the royal family. There was no water in the cistern, but there was a thick layer of mud at the bottom, and Jeremiah sank down into it.

So they took Jeremiah and dropped him into the cistern of Malchiah the king’s son, which was in the guard’s courtyard, lowering Jeremiah with ropes. There was no water in the cistern, only mud, and Jeremiah sank in the mud.

Then they took Jeremiah and threw him into the dungeon of Malchijah the king’s son, that was in the court of the guard. They let down Jeremiah with cords. In the dungeon there was no water, but mire; and Jeremiah sank in the mire.

錫安哪、你，你也如此，為了和你立的約之血、我必將你中間被擄被囚的人從無水坑中釋放出來。

把約瑟丟在坑裏。那坑子是空的，裏面沒有水。

援救我出離淤泥，別叫我沉陷下去；求你援救我脫離恨我的人和深水。別讓流水漫過我；別讓深水吞滅我；別讓陰坑在我以上而合口。

看監獄的領了這樣的囑咐，便將他們下在內監，把他們的兩腳妥妥當當地上了木狗。

看吧，猶大王宮裏所有剩下的婦女都必被帶出到巴比倫王的首領那裏；這些婦女必說：「你知己的人教唆了你，勝過了你，他們使你的腳沉陷於泥濘中，自己反而退後。」

我沉陷在深淤泥中，沒有立腳之地。我到了深水中；流水漫過我身。

他把我從毁滅坑裏、從淤泥中拉上，使我的腳立在磐石上，使我的步伐穩當。

只是分封王希律、因了自己兄弟的妻子希羅底的事、又因了自己所行的一切惡事受約翰指責、竟在一切之上多加了一件：把約翰關在監裏。

王竟吩咐王子耶拉篾、亞次列的兒子西萊雅、和亞伯疊的兒子示利米雅去捉拿祕書巴錄和神言人耶利米；然而永恆主卻將他們隱藏着。

他們對我、是以惡報善，以恨報愛的。

『我的仇敵無緣無故緊緊追捕我，像捕雀鳥一樣。他們要了結我的性命於坑裏，又將石頭拋在我身上。眾水淹過我的頭；我說：「我命絕了！」『永恆主啊，我從陰坑最低處呼求你的名。

於是以伯米勒隨手帶了人，進入王宮，到庫房以下，從那裏取了些破布爛衣，用繩子縋下井裏到耶利米那裏。古實人以伯米勒對耶利米說：『你把這些破布爛衣放在繩子上去墊胳肢窩。』耶利米就這樣作。

你們所需要的就是堅忍，使你們行完了上帝的旨意，就可以領受所應許的。

我們四面受逼，卻沒有被困住；計謀絕了，卻沒有絕望；遭逼迫，卻沒有被撇棄；被打倒，卻沒打到死去；
