以實瑪利還擄去所有留在米斯巴的餘民，包括王的眾公主和所有留在米斯巴的人民；這些人都是護衛長尼布撒拉旦交給亞希甘的兒子基大利管理的。尼探雅的兒子以實瑪利把他們擄走，往亞捫那裡去。

巴比倫王在利比拉，當著西底家眼前殺了他的眾子；巴比倫王也殺了猶大所有的顯貴，

但你若不出去歸降巴比倫王的將領，這城就必交在迦勒底人的手中；他們必放火燒毀這城，你自己也不能從他們的手裡逃脫。’”

他們又在西底家眼前殺了他的眾子，並且把西底家的眼睛弄瞎，然後用銅鍊鎖住他，把他帶到巴比倫去。

脫離刀劍的人，迦勒底王都把他們擄到巴比倫去，作他和他的子孫的奴僕，直到波斯國興起的時候。這樣，就應驗了耶和華藉耶利米所說的話：直到這地享滿了安息，因為這地在荒涼的日子，就享安息，直到滿了七十年。

我照著這一切話對猶大王西底家說：“你們要把頸項放在巴比倫王的軛下，服事他和他的人民，就可以生存。你和你的人民為甚麼要因刀劍、饑荒和瘟疫而死，正如耶和華論到不肯服事巴比倫王的國家所說的一樣呢？

我所見的異象，好像我在他來毀滅那城的時候所見的異象一樣，又像我在迦巴魯河邊所見的異象一般，我就俯伏在地上。

如果有先知被欺騙說一句話，是我耶和華任那先知受欺騙的；我必伸手攻擊他，把他從我子民以色列中除滅。

迦勒底人的軍隊追趕，在耶利哥的原野上把西底家追上了；他的全軍都離開他四散了。他們把王擒住，把他解到哈馬地的利比拉巴比倫王那裡；他就宣判他的罪。巴比倫王在利比拉，當著西底家眼前殺了他的眾子，也殺了猶大所有的領袖，並且把西底家的眼睛弄瞎，然後用銅鍊鎖住他。巴比倫王把他帶到巴比倫去，關在牢裡，直到他去世的日子。五月十日，就是巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒第十九年，侍立在巴比倫王面前的護衛長尼布撒拉旦來到耶路撒冷。他放火焚燒耶和華的殿和王宮，以及耶路撒冷一切房屋，一切高大的房屋，他都放火燒了。
