“ Take a scroll and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah and all the other nations from the time I began speaking to you in the reign of Josiah till now.

“ Get a scroll. Write on it all the words I have spoken to you. Write down what I have said about Israel, Judah and all the other nations. Write what I have said to you from the time of King Josiah until now.

“ Take a scroll and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel and Judah and all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah until today.

“ Get a scroll, and write down all my messages against Israel, Judah, and the other nations. Begin with the first message back in the days of Josiah, and write down every message, right up to the present time.

“ Take a scroll, and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah, and all the nations from the time I first spoke to you during Josiah’s reign until today.

“ Take a scroll and write on it all the words which I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah, and all the nations, from the day I first spoke to you, from the days of Josiah, even to this day.

“ Take a scroll of a book and write on it all the words that I have spoken to you against Israel, against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spoke to you, from the days of Josiah even to this day.

Take thee a roll of a book, and write therein all the words that I have spoken unto thee against Israel, and against Judah, and against all the nations, from the day I spake unto thee, from the days of Josiah, even unto this day.

“ Take a scroll, and write on it all the words I have spoken to you concerning Israel, Judah, and all the nations from the time I first spoke to you during Josiah’s reign until today.

“ This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says:‘ Write in a book all the words I have spoken to you. (niv)

See, today I appoint you over nations and kingdoms to uproot and tear down, to destroy and overthrow, to build and to plant.” (niv)

Then the Lord said to Moses,“ Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the name of Amalek from under heaven.” (niv)

For twenty-three years— from the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah until this very day— the word of the Lord has come to me and I have spoken to you again and again, but you have not listened. (niv)

“ Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” (niv)

A scroll was found in the citadel of Ecbatana in the province of Media, and this was written on it: Memorandum: (niv)

I will summon all the peoples of the north and my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon,” declares the Lord,“ and I will bring them against this land and its inhabitants and against all the surrounding nations. I will completely destroy them and make them an object of horror and scorn, and an everlasting ruin.I will banish from them the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of bride and bridegroom, the sound of millstones and the light of the lamp.This whole country will become a desolate wasteland, and these nations will serve the king of Babylon seventy years.“ But when the seventy years are fulfilled, I will punish the king of Babylon and his nation, the land of the Babylonians, for their guilt,” declares the Lord,“ and will make it desolate forever.I will bring on that land all the things I have spoken against it, all that are written in this book and prophesied by Jeremiah against all the nations.They themselves will be enslaved by many nations and great kings; I will repay them according to their deeds and the work of their hands.”This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, said to me:“ Take from my hand this cup filled with the wine of my wrath and make all the nations to whom I send you drink it.When they drink it, they will stagger and go mad because of the sword I will send among them.”So I took the cup from the Lord’s hand and made all the nations to whom he sent me drink it:Jerusalem and the towns of Judah, its kings and officials, to make them a ruin and an object of horror and scorn, a curse— as they are today;Pharaoh king of Egypt, his attendants, his officials and all his people,and all the foreign people there; all the kings of Uz; all the kings of the Philistines( those of Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the people left at Ashdod);Edom, Moab and Ammon;all the kings of Tyre and Sidon; the kings of the coastlands across the sea;Dedan, Tema, Buz and all who are in distant places;all the kings of Arabia and all the kings of the foreign people who live in the wilderness;all the kings of Zimri, Elam and Media;and all the kings of the north, near and far, one after the other— all the kingdoms on the face of the earth. And after all of them, the king of Sheshak will drink it too.“ Then tell them,‘ This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: Drink, get drunk and vomit, and fall to rise no more because of the sword I will send among you.’But if they refuse to take the cup from your hand and drink, tell them,‘ This is what the Lord Almighty says: You must drink it!See, I am beginning to bring disaster on the city that bears my Name, and will you indeed go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am calling down a sword on all who live on the earth, declares the Lord Almighty.’ (niv)

The word of the Lord came to him in the thirteenth year of the reign of Josiah son of Amon king of Judah,and through the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, down to the fifth month of the eleventh year of Zedekiah son of Josiah king of Judah, when the people of Jerusalem went into exile. (niv)

Whenever Jehudi had read three or four columns of the scroll, the king cut them off with a scribe’s knife and threw them into the firepot, until the entire scroll was burned in the fire. (niv)

Then I said,“ Here I am, I have come— it is written about me in the scroll. (niv)

So you go to the house of the Lord on a day of fasting and read to the people from the scroll the words of the Lord that you wrote as I dictated. Read them to all the people of Judah who come in from their towns. (niv)

The Lord said to me,“ Take a large scroll and write on it with an ordinary pen: Maher- Shalal- Hash- Baz.” (niv)

“ Among the prophets of Samaria I saw this repulsive thing: They prophesied by Baal and led my people Israel astray.And among the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen something horrible: They commit adultery and live a lie. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that not one of them turns from their wickedness. They are all like Sodom to me; the people of Jerusalem are like Gomorrah.” (niv)

Then I looked, and I saw a hand stretched out to me. In it was a scroll, (niv)

Therefore the showers have been withheld, and no spring rains have fallen. Yet you have the brazen look of a prostitute; you refuse to blush with shame.Have you not just called to me:‘ My Father, my friend from my youth,will you always be angry? Will your wrath continue forever?’ This is how you talk, but you do all the evil you can.”During the reign of King Josiah, the Lord said to me,“ Have you seen what faithless Israel has done? She has gone up on every high hill and under every spreading tree and has committed adultery there.I thought that after she had done all this she would return to me but she did not, and her unfaithful sister Judah saw it.I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce and sent her away because of all her adulteries. Yet I saw that her unfaithful sister Judah had no fear; she also went out and committed adultery.Because Israel’s immorality mattered so little to her, she defiled the land and committed adultery with stone and wood.In spite of all this, her unfaithful sister Judah did not return to me with all her heart, but only in pretense,” declares the Lord. (niv)

Jeremiah had written on a scroll about all the disasters that would come upon Babylon— all that had been recorded concerning Babylon. (niv)

Go now, write it on a tablet for them, inscribe it on a scroll, that for the days to come it may be an everlasting witness.For these are rebellious people, deceitful children, children unwilling to listen to the Lord’s instruction. (niv)

After Moses finished writing in a book the words of this law from beginning to end, (niv)

Hear the word of the Lord, you descendants of Jacob, all you clans of Israel. (niv)

So the Lord was very angry with Israel and removed them from his presence. Only the tribe of Judah was left,and even Judah did not keep the commands of the Lord their God. They followed the practices Israel had introduced.Therefore the Lord rejected all the people of Israel; he afflicted them and gave them into the hands of plunderers, until he thrust them from his presence. (niv)

I wrote for them the many things of my law, but they regarded them as something foreign. (niv)

(“ Oh, that I had someone to hear me! I sign now my defense— let the Almighty answer me; let my accuser put his indictment in writing. (niv)

And he said to me,“ Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the people of Israel.”So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat.Then he said to me,“ Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it.” So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth. (niv)

I looked again, and there before me was a flying scroll.He asked me,“ What do you see?” I answered,“ I see a flying scroll, twenty cubits long and ten cubits wide.”And he said to me,“ This is the curse that is going out over the whole land; for according to what it says on one side, every thief will be banished, and according to what it says on the other, everyone who swears falsely will be banished.The Lord Almighty declares,‘ I will send it out, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of anyone who swears falsely by my name. It will remain in that house and destroy it completely, both its timbers and its stones.’” (niv)

Then the Lord replied:“ Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it.For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay. (niv)

Then I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and sealed with seven seals.And I saw a mighty angel proclaiming in a loud voice,“ Who is worthy to break the seals and open the scroll?”But no one in heaven or on earth or under the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it.I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside.Then one of the elders said to me,“ Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”Then I saw a Lamb, looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne, encircled by the four living creatures and the elders. The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits of God sent out into all the earth.He went and took the scroll from the right hand of him who sat on the throne.And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty- four elders fell down before the Lamb. Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.And they sang a new song, saying:“ You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. Also tell Jehoiakim king of Judah,‘ This is what the Lord says: You burned that scroll and said,“ Why did you write on it that the king of Babylon would certainly come and destroy this land and wipe from it both man and beast?” (niv)

“ The people of Israel and Judah have done nothing but evil in my sight from their youth; indeed, the people of Israel have done nothing but arouse my anger with what their hands have made, declares the Lord.From the day it was built until now, this city has so aroused my anger and wrath that I must remove it from my sight.The people of Israel and Judah have provoked me by all the evil they have done— they, their kings and officials, their priests and prophets, the people of Judah and those living in Jerusalem.They turned their backs to me and not their faces; though I taught them again and again, they would not listen or respond to discipline.They set up their vile images in the house that bears my Name and defiled it.They built high places for Baal in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to sacrifice their sons and daughters to Molek, though I never commanded— nor did it enter my mind— that they should do such a detestable thing and so make Judah sin. (niv)

When Baruch son of Neriah wrote on a scroll the words Jeremiah the prophet dictated in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, Jeremiah said this to Baruch: (niv)

This is the word of the Lord that came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the Philistines before Pharaoh attacked Gaza:This is what the Lord says:“ See how the waters are rising in the north; they will become an overflowing torrent. They will overflow the land and everything in it, the towns and those who live in them. The people will cry out; all who dwell in the land will wailat the sound of the hooves of galloping steeds, at the noise of enemy chariots and the rumble of their wheels. Parents will not turn to help their children; their hands will hang limp.For the day has come to destroy all the Philistines and to remove all survivors who could help Tyre and Sidon. The Lord is about to destroy the Philistines, the remnant from the coasts of Caphtor.Gaza will shave her head in mourning; Ashkelon will be silenced. You remnant on the plain, how long will you cut yourselves?“‘ Alas, sword of the Lord, how long till you rest? Return to your sheath; cease and be still.’But how can it rest when the Lord has commanded it, when he has ordered it to attack Ashkelon and the coast?” (niv)
