約雅敬在位的時候，巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒來攻打他，約雅敬就臣服他三年，後來卻反悔，背叛他。耶和華差派迦勒底的軍隊、亞蘭的軍隊、摩押的軍隊和亞捫人的軍隊攻打他，他差他們攻擊猶大，毀滅它，就像耶和華藉著他的僕人眾先知預言的話。

猶大王約雅敬在位第三年，巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒來到耶路撒冷，把城圍困。主把猶大王約雅敬和神殿中的一部分器物交在尼布甲尼撒手裡，他就把這些器物帶到示拿地的神廟那裡，存放在廟中的寶庫裡。
