For this is what the Lord says: David will have a descendant sitting on the throne of Israel forever.

“因为耶和华如此说：大卫必永不断人坐在以色列家的宝座上；

“因为耶和华如此说：大卫家必永远不断有人坐在以色列家的宝座上；

“因为耶和华如此说：大卫家必永远不断有人坐在以色列家的宝座上；

因为耶和华说，‘我应许大卫的后裔必永远统治以色列，

因为耶和华这样说：‘大卫家必不断有人坐在以色列家的王位上。

「因為耶和華如此說：大衛必永不斷人坐在以色列家的寶座上；

「因為耶和華如此說：大衛家必永遠不斷有人坐在以色列家的寶座上；

「因為耶和華如此說：大衛家必永遠不斷有人坐在以色列家的寶座上；

因為耶和華說，『我應許大衛的後裔必永遠統治以色列，

因為耶和華這樣說：‘大衛家必不斷有人坐在以色列家的王位上。

『因為永恆主這麼說：大衛家總必不斷地會有人坐以色列家的王位；

蓋耶和華曰、大衛必永不乏人、居以色列家之位、

耶和華又曰、大闢必有後、踐以色列國位。

主如是云、大衛家永不乏人坐於國位、治理以色列族、

For this is what the Lord says:‘ David will never fail to have a man to sit on the throne of Israel,

The Lord says,“ David will always have a son to sit on the throne of Israel.

“ For thus says the Lord: David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel,

“ For this is what the LORD says: David will never fail to have a man sitting on the throne of the house of Israel.

For this is what the Lord says:‘ David shall not lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel;

“ For thus says the Lord:‘ David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel;

For thus saith Jehovah: David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;

“ For this is what the Lord says: David will never fail to have a man sitting on the throne of the house of Israel.

For thus saith the LORD; David shall never want a man to sit upon the throne of the house of Israel;

For I, the LORD, promise:“ David will never lack a successor to occupy the throne over the nation of Israel.

For Yahweh says:“ David will never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel.

If you do this, then the Lord will keep the promise he made to me. He told me,‘ If your descendants live as they should and follow me faithfully with all their heart and soul, one of them will always sit on the throne of Israel.’

I will preserve an heir for him; his throne will be as endless as the days of heaven.But if his descendants forsake my instructions and fail to obey my regulations,if they do not obey my decrees and fail to keep my commands,then I will punish their sin with the rod, and their disobedience with beating.But I will never stop loving him nor fail to keep my promise to him.No, I will not break my covenant; I will not take back a single word I said.I have sworn an oath to David, and in my holiness I cannot lie:His dynasty will go on forever; his kingdom will endure as the sun.It will be as eternal as the moon, my faithful witness in the sky!” Interlude

He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David.And he will reign over Israel forever; his Kingdom will never end!”

For when you die and join your ancestors, I will raise up one of your descendants, one of your sons, and I will make his kingdom strong.He is the one who will build a house— a temple— for me. And I will secure his throne forever.I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my favor from him as I took it from the one who ruled before you.I will confirm him as king over my house and my kingdom for all time, and his throne will be secure forever.’”

His government and its peace will never end. He will rule with fairness and justice from the throne of his ancestor David for all eternity. The passionate commitment of the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will make this happen!

“ And now, O Lord, God of Israel, carry out the additional promise you made to your servant David, my father. For you said to him,‘ If your descendants guard their behavior and faithfully follow me as you have done, one of them will always sit on the throne of Israel.’

I will be his father, and he will be my son. If he sins, I will correct and discipline him with the rod, like any father would do.But my favor will not be taken from him as I took it from Saul, whom I removed from your sight.Your house and your kingdom will continue before me for all time, and your throne will be secure forever.’”

And now, it has pleased you to bless the house of your servant, so that it will continue forever before you. For when you grant a blessing, O Lord, it is an eternal blessing!”

Therefore, this is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says:‘ Jehonadab son of Recab will always have descendants who serve me.’”

Joab and his family are the guilty ones. May the family of Joab be cursed in every generation with a man who has open sores or leprosy or who walks on crutches or dies by the sword or begs for food!”
