“ This is what the Lord Almighty says:‘ In this place, desolate and without people or animals— in all its towns there will again be pastures for shepherds to rest their flocks.

The Lord who rules over all says,“ This place is a desert. It does not have any people or animals in it. But there will again be grasslands near all its towns. Shepherds will rest their flocks there.

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts: In this place that is waste, without man or beast, and in all of its cities, there shall again be habitations of shepherds resting their flocks.

“ This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: This land— though it is now desolate and has no people and animals— will once more have pastures where shepherds can lead their flocks.

“ This is what the LORD of Armies says: In this desolate place— without people or animals — and in all its cities there will once more be a grazing land where shepherds may rest flocks.

“ This is what the Lord of armies says:‘ There will again be in this place which is waste, without man or animal, and in all its cities, a pasture for shepherds who rest their flocks.

“ Thus says the Lord of hosts:‘ In this place which is desolate, without man and without beast, and in all its cities, there shall again be a dwelling place of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Yet again shall there be in this place, which is waste, without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, a habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.

“ This is what the Lord of Hosts says: In this desolate place— without man or beast— and in all its cities there will once more be a grazing land where shepherds may rest flocks.

Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Again in this place, which is desolate without man and without beast, and in all the cities thereof, shall be an habitation of shepherds causing[ their] flocks to lie down.

“ I, the LORD who rules over all, say:‘ This place will indeed lie in ruins. There will be no people or animals in it. But there will again be in it and in its towns sheepfolds where shepherds can rest their sheep.

Yahweh of Armies says:“ Yet again there will be in this place, which is waste, without man and without animal, and in all its cities, a habitation of shepherds causing their flocks to lie down.

Sharon will become a pasture for flocks, and the Valley of Achor a resting place for herds, for my people who seek me. (niv)

The land by the sea will become pastures having wells for shepherds and pens for flocks.That land will belong to the remnant of the people of Judah; there they will find pasture. In the evening they will lie down in the houses of Ashkelon. The Lord their God will care for them; he will restore their fortunes. (niv)

Then say,‘ Lord, you have said you will destroy this place, so that neither people nor animals will live in it; it will be desolate forever.’ (niv)

As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness.I will bring them out from the nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land. I will pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in all the settlements in the land.I will tend them in a good pasture, and the mountain heights of Israel will be their grazing land. There they will lie down in good grazing land, and there they will feed in a rich pasture on the mountains of Israel.I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign Lord. (niv)

Also tell Jehoiakim king of Judah,‘ This is what the Lord says: You burned that scroll and said,“ Why did you write on it that the king of Babylon would certainly come and destroy this land and wipe from it both man and beast?” (niv)

People will live together in Judah and all its towns— farmers and those who move about with their flocks. (niv)

Once more fields will be bought in this land of which you say,‘ It is a desolate waste, without people or animals, for it has been given into the hands of the Babylonians.’Fields will be bought for silver, and deeds will be signed, sealed and witnessed in the territory of Benjamin, in the villages around Jerusalem, in the towns of Judah and in the towns of the hill country, of the western foothills and of the Negev, because I will restore their fortunes, declares the Lord.” (niv)

People will come from the towns of Judah and the villages around Jerusalem, from the territory of Benjamin and the western foothills, from the hill country and the Negev, bringing burnt offerings and sacrifices, grain offerings and incense, and bringing thank offerings to the house of the Lord. (niv)

“‘ But you, mountains of Israel, will produce branches and fruit for my people Israel, for they will soon come home.I am concerned for you and will look on you with favor; you will be plowed and sown,and I will cause many people to live on you— yes, all of Israel. The towns will be inhabited and the ruins rebuilt.I will increase the number of people and animals living on you, and they will be fruitful and become numerous. I will settle people on you as in the past and will make you prosper more than before. Then you will know that I am the Lord. (niv)

But I will bring Israel back to their own pasture, and they will graze on Carmel and Bashan; their appetite will be satisfied on the hills of Ephraim and Gilead.In those days, at that time,” declares the Lord,“ search will be made for Israel’s guilt, but there will be none, and for the sins of Judah, but none will be found, for I will forgive the remnant I spare. (niv)

People from the Negev will occupy the mountains of Esau, and people from the foothills will possess the land of the Philistines. They will occupy the fields of Ephraim and Samaria, and Benjamin will possess Gilead.This company of Israelite exiles who are in Canaan will possess the land as far as Zarephath; the exiles from Jerusalem who are in Sepharad will possess the towns of the Negev. (niv)
