“‘ If they offer it as an expression of thankfulness, then along with this thank offering they are to offer thick loaves made without yeast and with olive oil mixed in, thin loaves made without yeast and brushed with oil, and thick loaves of the finest flour well- kneaded and with oil mixed in.Along with their fellowship offering of thanksgiving they are to present an offering with thick loaves of bread made with yeast. With praise and thanksgiving they sang to the Lord:“ He is good; his love toward Israel endures forever.” And all the people gave a great shout of praise to the Lord, because the foundation of the house of the Lord was laid.But many of the older priests and Levites and family heads, who had seen the former temple, wept aloud when they saw the foundation of this temple being laid, while many others shouted for joy.No one could distinguish the sound of the shouts of joy from the sound of weeping, because the people made so much noise. How attractive and beautiful they will be! Grain will make the young men thrive, and new wine the young women. (niv)

But I, with shouts of grateful praise, will sacrifice to you. What I have vowed I will make good. I will say,‘ Salvation comes from the Lord.’” (niv)

Sing, Daughter Zion; shout aloud, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, Daughter Jerusalem! (niv)

Then all the people went away to eat and drink, to send portions of food and to celebrate with great joy, because they now understood the words that had been made known to them. (niv)

The Lord will surely comfort Zion and will look with compassion on all her ruins; he will make her deserts like Eden, her wastelands like the garden of the Lord. Joy and gladness will be found in her, thanksgiving and the sound of singing. (niv)
