They built high places for Baal in the Valley of Ben Hinnom to sacrifice their sons and daughters to Molek, though I never commanded— nor did it enter my mind— that they should do such a detestable thing and so make Judah sin.

The people built high places for Baal in the Valley of Ben Hinnom. That is where they sacrifice their children to Molek in the fire. That is something I did not command. It did not even enter my mind. They did something I hate. They made Judah sin.”

並且在欣嫩子谷把自己的兒女用火燒為祭，又占卜、行邪術、用法術、交鬼和通靈；作了很多耶和華看為惡的事，惹他發怒。

他卻隨從以色列諸王的道路，又為巴力鑄造偶像；並且在欣嫩子谷燒香，用火焚燒自己的兒女，像耶和華在以色列人面前驅走的外族人所行可厭惡的事一樣；

他又污穢在欣嫩子谷的陀斐特，不許人在那裡將兒女焚燒獻給摩洛（“將兒女焚燒獻給摩洛”直譯是“使兒女經過進入火中給摩洛”）。

這是因為他所犯的罪，行耶和華看為惡的事，走耶羅波安的路，犯了他使以色列人陷在罪中的那罪。

他們築了巴力的邱壇，好用火焚燒自己的兒女，作燔祭獻給巴力。這不是我吩咐的，我沒有提說過，也沒有在我心裡想過。因此，看哪！日子快到，這地方必不再稱為陀斐特或欣嫩子谷，而要稱為殺戮谷。’這是耶和華的宣告。

“你要對以色列人說：任何以色列人，或是在以色列中寄居的外人，把自己的兒子獻給摩洛，必要把他處死；本地的人要用石頭把他打死。我也要向那人變臉，把他從他的族人中剪除，因為他把自己的兒子獻給摩洛，玷污了我的聖所，褻瀆了我的聖名。如果有人把他的兒子獻給摩洛，而本地的人掩目不看，不把他處死，我就要向那人和他的家族變臉，把他和所有跟隨他與摩洛行邪淫的人，都從他們的族人中剪除。

你們在橡樹林中，在青翠樹下慾火焚心；在山谷間，在巖穴裡，宰殺自己的孩子作祭牲。

可是瑪拿西卻引誘猶大人和耶路撒冷的居民行惡，比耶和華在以色列人面前除滅的列國更厲害。

“因為猶大王瑪拿西所作這些可憎惡的事，比在他以前的亞摩利人所行的惡更壞，並且以他的偶像使猶大人犯罪。

你更把你的兒女，就是你給我所生的兒女，獻給它們作食物；你所行的淫亂還算是小事嗎？你竟宰殺了我的兒女，使他們經火，獻給它們。

為了耶羅波安所犯的罪，又為了他使以色列人所犯的罪，耶和華必丟棄以色列人。”

他們把自己的兒女祭祀鬼魔。他們流了無辜人的血，就是他們自己兒女的血，把他們祭祀迦南的偶像；那地就被血污穢了。

這是因為耶羅波安所犯的罪，和他使以色列人陷在罪中的那罪，又因為他惹動耶和華以色列的神的怒氣。

因為她們行了姦淫，手中染血，與自己的偶像行姦淫，他們甚至使自己給我所生的兒女經火，獻給偶像作食物。

拿答行耶和華看為惡的事，跟隨他父親的路，犯他父親使以色列人陷在罪中的那罪。

那麼，叫她離開的前夫，不可在她受了污辱以後，再娶她為妻，因為這在耶和華面前是可厭可惡的事；你不可使耶和華你的神賜給你作產業的土地蒙受罪污。

此外，甚至在伯特利的祭壇和那使以色列人陷於罪中的尼八的兒子耶羅波安所做的邱壇，他都拆毀焚燒，壓碎成灰，又把亞舍拉燒了。

摩西對亞倫說：“這人民向你作了甚麼，你竟使他們陷在大罪裡呢？”

只是尼八的兒子耶羅波安使以色列人陷在罪中的那些罪，他卻堅持不捨，不肯脫離。

在你中間不可有人把自己的兒女獻作火祭（“把自己的兒女獻作火祭”直譯是“使自己的兒女經過進入火中”），也不可有占卜的、算命的、用法術的、行邪術的、

因為他們離棄了我，去敬拜西頓人的女神亞斯他錄、摩押人的神基抹和亞捫人的神米勒公，沒有遵行我的道，行我眼中看為正的事，謹守我的律例典章，像他的父親大衛一樣。

我要使你的家像尼八的兒子耶羅波安的家，又像亞希雅的兒子巴沙的家，因為你惹我發怒，又因為你使以色列人陷在罪中。’
