This is what the Lord says:“ The people who survive the sword will find favor in the wilderness; I will come to give rest to Israel.”

The Lord says,“ Some of my people will live through everything their enemies do to them. They will find help in the desert. I will come to give peace and rest to Israel.”

Thus says the Lord:“ The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness; when Israel sought for rest,

This is what the Lord says:“ Those who survive the coming destruction will find blessings even in the barren land, for I will give rest to the people of Israel.”

This is what the LORD says: The people who survived the sword found favor in the wilderness. When Israel went to find rest,

This is what the Lord says:“ The people who survived the sword Found grace in the wilderness— Israel, when it went to find its rest.”

Thus says the Lord:“ The people who survived the sword Found grace in the wilderness— Israel, when I went to give him rest.”

Thus saith Jehovah, The people that were left of the sword found favor in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

This is what the Lord says: They found favor in the wilderness— the people who survived the sword. When Israel went to find rest,

Thus saith the LORD, The people[ which were] left of the sword found grace in the wilderness;[ even] Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

The LORD says,“ The people of Israel who survived death at the hands of the enemy will find favor in the wilderness as they journey to find rest for themselves.

Yahweh says,“ The people who survive the sword found favor in the wilderness; even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.”

who went ahead of you on your journey, in fire by night and in a cloud by day, to search out places for you to camp and to show you the way you should go. (niv)

So I declared on oath in my anger,‘ They shall never enter my rest.’” (niv)

I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord, the deeds for which he is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us— yes, the many good things he has done for Israel, according to his compassion and many kindnesses.He said,“ Surely they are my people, children who will be true to me”; and so he became their Savior.In all their distress he too was distressed, and the angel of his presence saved them. So he turned and became their enemy and he himself fought against them.Then his people recalled the days of old, the days of Moses and his people— where is he who brought them through the sea, with the shepherd of his flock? Where is he who set his Holy Spirit among them,who sent his glorious arm of power to be at Moses’ right hand, who divided the waters before them, to gain for himself everlasting renown,who led them through the depths? Like a horse in open country, they did not stumble;like cattle that go down to the plain, they were given rest by the Spirit of the Lord. This is how you guided your people to make for yourself a glorious name. (niv)

So they set out from the mountain of the Lord and traveled for three days. The ark of the covenant of the Lord went before them during those three days to find them a place to rest. (niv)

The Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast wilderness. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything. (niv)

The Lord replied,“ My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” (niv)

He brought out Israel, laden with silver and gold, and from among their tribes no one faltered.Egypt was glad when they left, because dread of Israel had fallen on them.He spread out a cloud as a covering, and a fire to give light at night.They asked, and he brought them quail; he fed them well with the bread of heaven.He opened the rock, and water gushed out; it flowed like a river in the desert.For he remembered his holy promise given to his servant Abraham.He brought out his people with rejoicing, his chosen ones with shouts of joy; (niv)

For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day.There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; (niv)

He guided them with the cloud by day and with light from the fire all night.He split the rocks in the wilderness and gave them water as abundant as the seas;he brought streams out of a rocky crag and made water flow down like rivers. (niv)

During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. (niv)

since you have not yet reached the resting place and the inheritance the Lord your God is giving you. (niv)

But for the sake of my name I did what would keep it from being profaned in the eyes of the nations in whose sight I had brought them out.Also with uplifted hand I swore to them in the wilderness that I would not bring them into the land I had given them— a land flowing with milk and honey, the most beautiful of all lands—because they rejected my laws and did not follow my decrees and desecrated my Sabbaths. For their hearts were devoted to their idols.Yet I looked on them with pity and did not destroy them or put an end to them in the wilderness. (niv)

He gave you manna to eat in the wilderness, something your ancestors had never known, to humble and test you so that in the end it might go well with you. (niv)

The Lord replied,“ I have forgiven them, as you asked. (niv)

Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands.He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. The Israelites journeyed from Rameses to Sukkoth. There were about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides women and children. (niv)

The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim.Moses said to Joshua,“ Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of the hill with the staff of God in my hands.”So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to the top of the hill.As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning.When Moses’ hands grew tired, they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up— one on one side, one on the other— so that his hands remained steady till sunset.So Joshua overcame the Amalekite army with the sword. (niv)

The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, so that he pursued the Israelites, who were marching out boldly.The Egyptians— all Pharaoh’s horses and chariots, horsemen and troops— pursued the Israelites and overtook them as they camped by the sea near Pi Hahiroth, opposite Baal Zephon.As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the Lord.They said to Moses,“ Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?Didn’t we say to you in Egypt,‘ Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert! (niv)

Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people:“ Every Hebrew boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live.” (niv)

and they said,“ May the Lord look on you and judge you! You have made us obnoxious to Pharaoh and his officials and have put a sword in their hand to kill us.” (niv)

Yet he gave a command to the skies above and opened the doors of the heavens;he rained down manna for the people to eat, he gave them the grain of heaven.Human beings ate the bread of angels; he sent them all the food they could eat.He let loose the east wind from the heavens and by his power made the south wind blow.He rained meat down on them like dust, birds like sand on the seashore.He made them come down inside their camp, all around their tents.They ate till they were gorged— he had given them what they craved. (niv)

By day you led them with a pillar of cloud, and by night with a pillar of fire to give them light on the way they were to take.“ You came down on Mount Sinai; you spoke to them from heaven. You gave them regulations and laws that are just and right, and decrees and commands that are good.You made known to them your holy Sabbath and gave them commands, decrees and laws through your servant Moses.In their hunger you gave them bread from heaven and in their thirst you brought them water from the rock; you told them to go in and take possession of the land you had sworn with uplifted hand to give them. But he brought his people out like a flock; he led them like sheep through the wilderness. (niv)

“ When you are helping the Hebrew women during childbirth on the delivery stool, if you see that the baby is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live.” (niv)
