當是時處女將舞蹈歡欣、壯男老叟亦若是、蓋我使其憂變為喜、又加慰藉、使其愁煩之後得歡樂、

Then young women will dance and be glad, young men and old as well. I will turn their mourning into gladness; I will give them comfort and joy instead of sorrow.

你已將我的舉哀變為舞蹈，將我的麻衣脫下，又將喜樂給我束腰，

分派給錫安悲哀的人，賜給他們華帽以代替爐灰，喜樂油以代替悲哀，頌讚之披風以代替暗淡沮喪之靈，使他們稱為義氣之篤耨香，是永恆主所栽種，以使自己得榮美的。

蒙永恆主贖救的人必返回，必歡呼來到錫安；永遠的喜樂必歸到他們頭上；歡躍喜樂、他們都必得到，憂愁歎息盡都逃走。

以色列子民哪，我必再建立你，你就得建立；你必再以「手鼓」為裝飾，出去加入嬉嬉笑鬧者的舞蹈。

當耶路撒冷城牆行奉獻禮的時候、眾民從各處去尋找利未人，要帶他們到耶路撒冷來、用稱謝、歌唱、響鈸、琴瑟、歡歡喜喜地舉行奉獻禮。

作為猶大人脫離仇敵、得享平安的日子，作為從愁苦轉為歡樂、從悲哀轉為快樂的假日月份，叫他們以這兩天作為宴飲歡樂的日子，彼此贈送禮物、給窮人送恩物。

那麼你們現今呢、也有憂愁；但我要再見你們，你們的心就歡喜了；並且你們的喜樂、誰也不能奪去。

願他們將舞蹈頌讚他的名，用手鼓和琴作樂讚揚他。

『萬軍之永恆主這麼說：四月的禁食和五月的禁食、七月的禁食和十月的禁食、都要變為猶大家高興歡喜的日子和快樂的節期；但是真實與和平你們總要喜愛。』

你的日必不再落，你的月必不虧缺；因為永恆主必做你永遠的光，你悲哀的日子已完了。

他們歡歡喜喜地守除酵之節七天，因為永恆主使他們歡喜，又使亞述王的心轉向他們，而加強他們的手去作以色列上帝之殿的工程。

那一天眾人宰獻了大祭，歡喜快樂；因為上帝使他們大大歡樂；連婦女帶孩童也都歡樂；甚至耶路撒冷中的歡聲都聽到遠處。

不，你們必因我所化造的而永遠高興快樂；因為看哪，我化造耶路撒冷做人所快樂的，化造她的人民為人所高興的。我必因耶路撒冷而快樂，因我的人民而高興；其中必不再聽到哭泣的聲音，也不再聽到哀呼的聲音。

因為永恆主一定要安慰錫安，安慰她所有的荒場，使她的曠野像伊甸，她的荒漠像永恆主的園子；其中必有歡躍和喜樂，稱謝和歌唱聲；憂愁歎息盡都逃走。

萬軍之永恆主這麼說：將來必再有年老男人和年老婦人在耶路撒冷的廣場上坐着；因為年紀大、個個都有扶杖在手。城裏的廣場必滿有男孩女孩在廣場上玩兒。
