For thus saith Jehovah: We have heard a voice of trembling, of fear, and not of peace.

“耶和華這樣說：‘我聽見了戰慄喊叫的聲音，一片恐慌，沒有平安。

『永恆主這麼說：我們聽見了令人發抖的聲音；只有恐懼，沒有平安。

耶和華曰、我聞戰慄驚恐之聲、非平康之聲、

惟聞戰慄恐懼之聲、不聞歡樂之聲。

主如是云、惟聞戰慄之聲、各處驚惶、毫無平康、

“ This is what the Lord says:“‘ Cries of fear are heard— terror, not peace.

“ I am the Lord. I say,“‘ Cries of fear are heard. There is terror. There isn’t any peace.

“ Thus says the Lord: We have heard a cry of panic, of terror, and no peace.

This is what the Lord says:“ I hear cries of fear; there is terror and no peace.

This is what the LORD says: We have heard a cry of terror, of dread— there is no peace.

“ For this is what the Lord says:‘ I have heard a sound of terror, Of fear, and there is no peace.

“ For thus says the Lord:‘ We have heard a voice of trembling, Of fear, and not of peace.

Yes, this is what the Lord says: We have heard a cry of terror, of dread— there is no peace.

Yes, here is what he says:“ You hear cries of panic and of terror; there is no peace in sight.

For Yahweh says:“ We have heard a voice of trembling; a voice of fear, and not of peace.

Therefore thus saith Jehovah, the God of hosts, the Lord: Wailing shall be in all the broad ways; and they shall say in all the streets, Alas! Alas! and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and such as are skilful in lamentation to wailing.And in all vineyards shall be wailing; for I will pass through the midst of thee, saith Jehovah.Woe unto you that desire the day of Jehovah! Wherefore would ye have the day of Jehovah? It is darkness, and not light.

And they shall roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold, darkness and distress; and the light is darkened in the clouds thereof.

Wherefore have I seen it? they are dismayed and are turned backward; and their mighty ones are beaten down, and are fled apace, and look not back: terror is on every side, saith Jehovah.

For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth evil from the hills of Ephraim.Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.As keepers of a field are they against her round about, because she hath been rebellious against me, saith Jehovah.Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness; for it is bitter, for it reacheth unto thy heart.My anguish, my anguish! I am pained at my very heart; my heart is disquieted in me; I cannot hold my peace; because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is laid waste: suddenly are my tents destroyed, and my curtains in a moment.

And in that day, saith Jehovah, there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and a wailing from the second quarter, and a great crashing from the hills.Wail, ye inhabitants of Maktesh; for all the people of Canaan are undone; all they that were laden with silver are cut off.

For a voice of wailing is heard out of Zion, How are we ruined! we are greatly confounded, because we have forsaken the land, because they have cast down our dwellings.

For behold, the days are coming, in which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the breasts that never gave suck.Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us.

Behold, the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people from a land that is very far off: is not Jehovah in Zion? is not her King in her? Why have they provoked me to anger with their graven images, and with foreign vanities?

We roar all like bears, and moan sore like doves: we look for justice, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.

A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and the wailing of the principal of the flock! for Jehovah layeth waste their pasture.

And when he drew nigh, he saw the city and wept over it,saying, If thou hadst known in this day, even thou, the things which belong unto peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.For the days shall come upon thee, when thine enemies shall cast up a bank about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,and shall dash thee to the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

And there shall be signs in sun and moon and stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the billows;men fainting for fear, and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world: for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken.

Thus saith Jehovah: A voice is heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping, Rachel weeping for her children; she refuseth to be comforted for her children, because they are not.Thus saith Jehovah: Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears; for thy work shall be rewarded, saith Jehovah; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.

They lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roareth like the sea, and they ride upon horses, every one set in array, as a man to the battle, against thee, O daughter of Zion.We have heard the report thereof; our hands wax feeble: anguish hath taken hold of us, and pangs as of a woman in travail.Go not forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy, and terror, are on every side.

And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning for an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.
