One of their own people will be their leader. Their ruler will come from their own number. I will invite him to approach me, and he will do so. For no one would dare approach me on his own. I, the LORD, affirm it!

Then he said to Korah and to all his company,“ In the morning the LORD will make known who are his, and who is holy. He will cause that person to approach him; the person he has chosen he will cause to approach him.

I will set one shepherd over them, and he will feed them– namely, my servant David. He will feed them and will be their shepherd.I, the LORD, will be their God, and my servant David will be prince among them; I, the LORD, have spoken!

God exalted him to his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.

and he himself is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for our sins but also for the whole world.

“‘ My servant David will be king over them; there will be one shepherd for all of them. They will follow my regulations and carefully observe my statutes.

I will raise up a prophet like you for them from among their fellow Israelites. I will put my words in his mouth and he will speak to them whatever I command.

Both those who went ahead and those who followed kept shouting,“ Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!”

Above his head they put the charge against him, which read:“ This is Jesus, the king of the Jews.”

They were singing a new song:“ You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals because you were killed, and at the cost of your own blood you have purchased for God persons from every tribe, language, people, and nation.You have appointed them as a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth.”

Here is the LORD’s proclamation to my lord:“ Sit down at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool!”The LORD extends your dominion from Zion. Rule in the midst of your enemies!Your people willingly follow you when you go into battle. On the holy hills at sunrise the dew of your youth belongs to you.The LORD makes this promise on oath and will not revoke it:“ You are an eternal priest after the pattern of Melchizedek.”

but Jesus did so with a sworn affirmation by the one who said to him,“ The Lord has sworn and will not change his mind,‘ You are a priest forever’”–accordingly Jesus has become the guarantee of a better covenant.And the others who became priests were numerous, because death prevented them from continuing in office,but he holds his priesthood permanently since he lives forever.So he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.For it is indeed fitting for us to have such a high priest: holy, innocent, undefiled, separate from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.

He has a name written on his clothing and on his thigh:“ King of kings and Lord of lords.”

Pilate also had a notice written and fastened to the cross, which read:“ Jesus the Nazarene, the king of the Jews.”Thus many of the Jewish residents of Jerusalem read this notice, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and the notice was written in Aramaic, Latin, and Greek.Then the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate,“ Do not write,‘ The king of the Jews,’ but rather,‘ This man said, I am king of the Jews.’”Pilate answered,“ What I have written, I have written.”

Jesus replied,“ My kingdom is not from this world. If my kingdom were from this world, my servants would be fighting to keep me from being handed over to the Jewish authorities. But as it is, my kingdom is not from here.”Then Pilate said,“ So you are a king!” Jesus replied,“ You say that I am a king. For this reason I was born, and for this reason I came into the world– to testify to the truth. Everyone who belongs to the truth listens to my voice.”

For a child has been born to us, a son has been given to us. He shoulders responsibility and is called: Extraordinary Strategist, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.His dominion will be vast and he will bring immeasurable prosperity. He will rule on David’s throne and over David’s kingdom, establishing it and strengthening it by promoting justice and fairness, from this time forward and forevermore. The LORD’s intense devotion to his people will accomplish this.

For David did not ascend into heaven, but he himself says,‘ The Lord said to my lord,“ Sit at my right handuntil I make your enemies a footstool for your feet.”’Therefore let all the house of Israel know beyond a doubt that God has made this Jesus whom you crucified both Lord and Christ.”

He will build a house for my name, and I will make his dynasty permanent.

“ Tell the people of Zion,‘ Look, your king is coming to you, unassuming and seated on a donkey, and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”So the disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them.They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them, and he sat on them.A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road. Others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.The crowds that went ahead of him and those following kept shouting,“ Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”As he entered Jerusalem the whole city was thrown into an uproar, saying,“ Who is this?”And the crowds were saying,“ This is the prophet Jesus, from Nazareth in Galilee.”

“ A lion coming up from the thick undergrowth along the Jordan scatters the sheep in the pastureland around it. So too I will chase the Edomites off their land. Then I will appoint over it whomever I choose. For there is no one like me, and there is no one who can call me to account. There is no ruler who can stand up against me.

Therefore since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.For we do not have a high priest incapable of sympathizing with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way just as we are, yet without sin.Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whenever we need help.

But they will be subject to the LORD their God and to the Davidic ruler whom I will raise up as king over them.

Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion! Shout, daughter of Jerusalem! Look! Your king is coming to you: he is legitimate and victorious, humble and riding on a donkey– on a young donkey, the foal of a female donkey.I will remove the chariot from Ephraim and the warhorse from Jerusalem, and the battle bow will be removed. Then he will announce peace to the nations. His dominion will be from sea to sea and from the Euphrates River to the ends of the earth.

Then say to him,‘ The LORD who rules over all says,“ Look– here is the man whose name is Branch, who will sprout up from his place and build the temple of the LORD.Indeed, he will build the temple of the LORD, and he will be clothed in splendor, sitting as king on his throne. Moreover, there will be a priest with him on his throne and they will see eye to eye on everything.

saying,“ Where is the one who is born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”

The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, until he comes to whom it belongs; the nations will obey him.

And a voice from heaven said,“ This is my one dear Son; in him I take great delight.”

“ A lion coming up from the thick undergrowth along the Jordan scatters the sheep in the pastureland around it. So too I will chase the Babylonians off of their land. Then I will appoint over it whomever I choose. For there is no one like me. There is no one who can call me to account. There is no ruler that can stand up against me.

Wasn’t it necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and enter into his glory?”

( 5: 1) As for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, seemingly insignificant among the clans of Judah– from you a king will emerge who will rule over Israel on my behalf, one whose origins are in the distant past.So the LORD will hand the people of Israel over to their enemies until the time when the woman in labor gives birth. Then the rest of the king’s countrymen will return to be reunited with the people of Israel.He will assume his post and shepherd the people by the LORD’s strength, by the sovereign authority of the LORD his God. They will live securely, for at that time he will be honored even in the distant regions of the earth.

Finally Abraham said,“ May the Lord not be angry so that I may speak just once more. What if ten are found there?” He replied,“ I will not destroy it for the sake of the ten.”

“ I, the LORD, promise that a new time will certainly come when I will raise up for them a righteous branch, a descendant of David. He will rule over them with wisdom and understanding and will do what is just and right in the land.Under his rule Judah will enjoy safety and Israel will live in security. This is the name he will go by:‘ The LORD has provided us with justice.’

Who is this who comes from Edom, dressed in bright red, coming from Bozrah? Who is this one wearing royal attire, who marches confidently because of his great strength?“ It is I, the one who announces vindication, and who is able to deliver!”

Then Abraham asked,“ Since I have undertaken to speak to the Lord( although I am but dust and ashes),

The Son is the radiance of his glory and the representation of his essence, and he sustains all things by his powerful word, and so when he had accomplished cleansing for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high.

“ Now you, Ezra, in keeping with the wisdom of your God which you possess, appoint judges and court officials who can arbitrate cases on behalf of all the people who are in Trans-Euphrates who know the laws of your God. Those who do not know this law should be taught.Everyone who does not observe both the law of your God and the law of the king will be completely liable to the appropriate penalty, whether it is death or banishment or confiscation of property or detainment in prison.”

Who is the one who will condemn? Christ is the one who died( and more than that, he was raised), who is at the right hand of God, and who also is interceding for us.

The Israelites said to Moses,“ We are bound to die! We perish, we all perish!( 17: 28) Anyone who even comes close to the tabernacle of the LORD will die! Are we all to die?”

I then put in charge over Jerusalem my brother Hanani and Hananiah the chief of the citadel, for he was a faithful man and feared God more than many do.

O that I knew where I might find him, that I could come to his place of residence!I would lay out my case before him and fill my mouth with arguments.I would know with what words he would answer me, and understand what he would say to me.

He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David.He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and his kingdom will never end.”

Then Abraham said,“ May the Lord not be angry so that I may speak! What if thirty are found there?” He replied,“ I will not do it if I find thirty there.”

Then I went to the governors of Trans-Euphrates, and I presented to them the letters from the king. The king had sent with me officers of the army and horsemen.When Sanballat the Horonite and Tobiah the Ammonite official heard all this, they were very displeased that someone had come to seek benefit for the Israelites.

The LORD was king over Jeshurun, when the leaders of the people assembled, the tribes of Israel together.

In those days and at that time I will raise up for them a righteous descendant of David.“‘ He will do what is just and right in the land.

They came with Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Nehemiah, Seraiah, Reelaiah, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispar, Bigvai, Rehum, and Baanah. The number of Israelites was as follows:

It was a memorial for the Israelites, that no outsider who is not a descendant of Aaron should approach to burn incense before the LORD, that he might not become like Korah and his company– just as the LORD had spoken by the authority of Moses.

And so he is the mediator of a new covenant, so that those who are called may receive the eternal inheritance he has promised, since he died to set them free from the violations committed under the first covenant.For where there is a will, the death of the one who made it must be proven.For a will takes effect only at death, since it carries no force while the one who made it is alive.So even the first covenant was inaugurated with blood.For when Moses had spoken every command to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats with water and scarlet wool and hyssop and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people,and said,“ This is the blood of the covenant that God has commanded you to keep.”And both the tabernacle and all the utensils of worship he likewise sprinkled with blood.Indeed according to the law almost everything was purified with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.So it was necessary for the sketches of the things in heaven to be purified with these sacrifices, but the heavenly things themselves required better sacrifices than these.For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with hands– the representation of the true sanctuary– but into heaven itself, and he appears now in God’s presence for us.

I will give him an eternal dynasty, and make his throne as enduring as the skies above.

you asked,‘ Who is this who darkens counsel without knowledge?’ But I have declared without understanding things too wonderful for me to know.You said,‘ Pay attention, and I will speak; I will question you, and you will answer me.’I had heard of you by the hearing of the ear, but now my eye has seen you.Therefore I despise myself, and I repent in dust and ashes!
