以色列族既背我、狥欲而行、我棄之、與以離書、其姊妹猶大族、屢欺侮予、毫無畏葸、狥欲而行、我鑒察之、彼狥欲特甚、崇拜木石、污衊斯邦、厥後佯為歸誠、心不誠慤。○

背叛之以色列、因行淫為我所逐、予以離書、其妹悖逆之猶大仍不畏懼、亦復行淫、我悉鑒察、

I gave faithless Israel her certificate of divorce and sent her away because of all her adulteries. Yet I saw that her unfaithful sister Judah had no fear; she also went out and committed adultery.

I gave Israel their letter of divorce. I sent them away because they were unfaithful to me so many times. But I saw that their sister nation Judah did not have any respect for me. They were not faithful to me either. They also went out and committed adultery with other gods.

She saw that for all the adulteries of that faithless one, Israel, I had sent her away with a decree of divorce. Yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but she too went and played the whore.

She saw that I divorced faithless Israel because of her adultery. But that treacherous sister Judah had no fear, and now she, too, has left me and given herself to prostitution.

I observed that it was because unfaithful Israel had committed adultery that I had sent her away and had given her a certificate of divorce. Nevertheless, her treacherous sister Judah was not afraid but also went and prostituted herself.

And I saw that for all the adulteries of faithless Israel, I had sent her away and given her a certificate of divorce, yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear; but she went and prostituted herself also.

Then I saw that for all the causes for which backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah did not fear, but went and played the harlot also.

And I saw, when, for this very cause that backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a bill of divorcement, yet treacherous Judah her sister feared not; but she also went and played the harlot.

I observed that it was because unfaithful Israel had committed adultery that I had sent her away and had given her a certificate of divorce. Nevertheless, her treacherous sister Judah was not afraid but also went and prostituted herself.

And I saw, when for all the causes whereby backsliding Israel committed adultery I had put her away, and given her a bill of divorce; yet her treacherous sister Judah feared not, but went and played the harlot also.

She also saw that I gave wayward Israel her divorce papers and sent her away because of her adulterous worship of other gods. Even after her unfaithful sister Judah had seen this, she still was not afraid, and she too went and gave herself like a prostitute to other gods.

I saw when, for this very cause, that backsliding Israel had committed adultery, I had put her away and given her a certificate of divorce, yet treacherous Judah, her sister, had no fear; but she also went and played the prostitute.

「如果有人娶妻後，發覺妻子行為不檢，因而嫌棄她，他可以寫休書給她，讓她離開夫家。

耶和華說：「如果丈夫休掉妻子，妻子離去另嫁別人，前夫怎會再娶她呢？那樣做豈不完全玷污了土地嗎？你曾與許多情人苟合，現在要歸向我嗎？

耶和華說：「我休你們母親的休書在哪裡呢？我把你們賣給了我哪一個債主呢？你們被賣是因為你們的罪惡，你們母親被休是因為你們的過犯。

何細亞執政第九年，撒瑪利亞淪陷。亞述王把以色列人擄到亞述，安置在哈臘、歌散的哈博河一帶以及瑪代人的各城。以色列人之所以有如此下場，是因為他們的上帝耶和華領他們出埃及，從埃及王法老手中救出他們，他們卻犯罪得罪祂。他們祭拜別的神明，效法耶和華在他們面前趕走的外族人的風俗和以色列諸王奉行的習俗。以色列人暗中做不義之事，冒犯他們的上帝耶和華。從瞭望塔到堅城，他們在各地建邱壇，在各高崗上、綠樹下立神柱和亞舍拉神像，在各邱壇燒香，如同耶和華在他們面前趕走的外族人一樣。他們邪惡的行為激怒了耶和華。儘管耶和華警告他們不可祭拜偶像，他們仍然執迷不悟。耶和華藉著祂的眾先知和先見警告以色列人和猶大人說：「你們要離開惡道，遵守我的誡命和律例，即我吩咐你們祖先遵守並藉著我的僕人——眾先知傳給你們的律法。」但他們充耳不聞，像他們祖先一樣頑固不化，不信靠他們的上帝耶和華，拒絕遵守祂的律例和祂與他們祖先所立的約，無視祂的警告。他們隨從虛無的偶像，自己也變得虛無。他們違背耶和華的命令，去效法周圍的外族人。他們把他們的上帝耶和華的誡命拋諸腦後，鑄造了兩個金牛犢，還造了亞舍拉神像。他們祭拜巴力和天上的萬象，把自己的兒女燒死獻作祭物。他們占卜，行邪術，出賣自己去做耶和華視為惡的事，惹祂發怒。因此，耶和華非常憤怒，從祂面前趕走以色列人，只留下猶大一個支派。但猶大人也不遵守他們的上帝耶和華的誡命，反而效法以色列人的惡行。

因此，我把她交在她所戀慕的亞述人手裡。

「你們去跟你們的母親理論吧！因為她不再是我的妻子，我也不再是她的丈夫。叫她別再出賣色相，別再露出乳間的淫態。不然，我要剝光她的衣服，使她像初生之時一樣赤身露體；我要使她像沙漠，如旱地，乾渴而死。

「雖然以色列如同妓女，對我不忠，但不要使猶大犯罪。不要到吉甲去，不要到伯·亞文去，不要憑永活的耶和華起誓。以色列桀驁不馴，如同桀驁不馴的母牛。耶和華怎能牧養他們，如同在草場上牧養羊羔呢？以法蓮與偶像為伍，任由他吧！

如果她的後夫也嫌棄她，寫休書給她，讓她離開夫家，或者後夫死了，

「她妹妹阿荷利巴看見這一切，不但沒有引以為戒，反而更加放蕩淫亂。她貪戀亞述的省長和總督，那些衣著華麗、英俊的年輕騎士。我看見她玷污了自己，與姐姐的行徑如出一轍。她還變本加厲地放蕩淫亂，看見牆上用朱砂畫著迦勒底人的像，腰間束帶，頭巾飄揚，都像是來自迦勒底的巴比倫人的將領，便戀上了他們，差遣使者到他們那裡。巴比倫人便來上她的床，放縱情慾玷污了她。之後，她便厭棄他們。她繼續公開地淫亂，在眾人面前赤身露體，我厭棄她，像厭棄她姐姐一樣。她卻更加淫亂，懷念自己年輕時在埃及為娼的日子，怎樣與那些體壯精足、如驢似馬的情人縱淫，渴望重溫早年的淫行，任埃及人摸胸弄乳。

耶和華說：「因他們在吉甲的一切惡行，我已憎惡他們。因他們的惡行，我要將他們逐出我的家，不再愛他們，他們的首領都是悖逆之人。以法蓮要被擊打，他們的根將枯乾，再也不能結果。就算他們能生兒育女，我也要殺死他們心愛的孩子。」我的上帝必棄絕他們，因為他們不聽從祂。他們必在列國中流離飄泊。

希西迦執政第四年，即以拉的兒子以色列王何細亞執政第七年，亞述王撒縵以色起兵攻打撒瑪利亞城，將城包圍。三年之後，就是希西迦執政第六年，以色列王何細亞執政第九年，撒瑪利亞失陷。亞述王把以色列人擄到亞述，將他們安置在哈臘、歌散的哈博河一帶以及瑪代人的城邑裡。

以色列人也要有許多日子沒有君王和首領，沒有祭祀和神柱，也沒有以弗得和家庭神像。

你不僅追隨她們可憎的行徑，還很快超過了她們。
