約西亞王在位的時候，耶和華又對我說：「背道的以色列所行的，你看見沒有？她上各高山，在各青翠樹下行淫。

你向淨光的高處舉目觀看，你在何處沒有淫行呢？你坐在道旁等候，好像阿拉伯人在曠野埋伏一樣，並且你的淫行邪惡玷污了全地。

又為自己建造圓頂花樓，在各街上做了高臺。你在一切市口上建造高臺，使你的美貌變為可憎的，又與一切過路的多行淫亂。

耶和華啊，我們承認自己的罪惡，和我們列祖的罪孽，因我們得罪了你。

「他們要承認自己的罪和他們祖宗的罪，就是干犯我的那罪，並且承認自己行事與我反對，我所以行事與他們反對，把他們帶到仇敵之地。那時，他們未受割禮的心若謙卑了，他們也服了罪孽的刑罰，我就要記念我與雅各所立的約，與以撒所立的約，與亞伯拉罕所立的約，並要記念這地。

我聽見以法蓮為自己悲歎說：你責罰我，我便受責罰，像不慣負軛的牛犢一樣。求你使我回轉，我便回轉，因為你是耶和華－我的神。我回轉以後就真正懊悔；受教以後就拍腿歎息；我因擔當幼年的凌辱就抱愧蒙羞。耶和華說：以法蓮是我的愛子嗎？是可喜悅的孩子嗎？我每逢責備他，仍深顧念他；所以我的心腸戀慕他；我必要憐憫他。

他在人前歌唱說：我犯了罪，顛倒是非，這竟與我無益。神救贖我的靈魂免入深坑；我的生命也必見光。

遮掩自己罪過的，必不亨通；承認離棄罪過的，必蒙憐恤。

「只是你仗着自己的美貌，又因你的名聲就行邪淫。你縱情淫亂，使過路的任意而行。

我們若說自己無罪，便是自欺，真理不在我們心裏了。我們若認自己的罪，神是信實的，是公義的，必要赦免我們的罪，洗淨我們一切的不義。我們若說自己沒有犯過罪，便是以神為說謊的，他的道也不在我們心裏了。
