予俾爾為俘囚、至於斯邑、汝當求予、錫斯邑以平康、蓋斯邑綏安、爾亦得享。

我使爾被擄至巴比倫邑、當為斯邑祈求我、我原文作主賜之以平康、蓋斯邑平康、爾亦平康、

Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

Also work for the success of the city I have sent you to. Pray to the Lord for that city. If it succeeds, you too will enjoy success.”

But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.

And work for the peace and prosperity of the city where I sent you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, for its welfare will determine your welfare.”

Pursue the well-being of the city I have deported you to. Pray to the LORD on its behalf, for when it thrives, you will thrive.”

Seek the prosperity of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord in its behalf; for in its prosperity will be your prosperity.’

And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.

Seek the welfare of the city I have deported you to. Pray to the Lord on its behalf, for when it has prosperity, you will prosper.”

我勸你首先要為所有的人懇求、禱告、代求，為他們感謝上帝。也要為所有的君王和掌權者禱告，使我們可以懷著虔誠、端正的心過和平安寧的生活。

好讓他們向天上的上帝獻上蒙悅納的祭物，並為王和眾王子求壽。

不論天上的上帝為祂的殿有何要求，都要認真辦理，以免祂的烈怒臨到王及眾王子的國。

但以理，又名伯提沙撒，一時非常驚訝，惶恐不安。王說：「伯提沙撒啊，不要因為這夢和夢的意思而惶恐不安。」伯提沙撒回答說：「我主啊，願這夢發生在恨你的人身上，夢的意思應驗在你的仇敵身上。

為主的緣故，你們要服從人間的一切權柄，不管是居首位的君王，還是被君王派來賞善罰惡的官員。因為上帝的旨意是要你們行善，使那些愚昧無知的人啞口無言。你們是自由的人，不要以自由為藉口去犯罪作惡，要作上帝的奴僕。要尊重所有的人，愛主內的弟兄姊妹，敬畏上帝，尊敬君王。

王啊，請接受我的勸諫，你要秉公行義，以斷絕罪惡；憐憫窮人，以除掉罪過。這樣，你的國運也許可以延續。」

所以，你們必須服從，不單是為了避免受到懲罰，也是為了良心無愧。

人人都要服從政府的權柄，因為所有的權柄都是出於上帝。現存的政權都是上帝設立的。

於是，其他總長和總督想在但以理的政務中找把柄控告他，卻找不到任何把柄或過失，因為他誠實可靠，毫無過失。最後他們說：「除非我們從但以理上帝的律法下手，否則找不到指控他的把柄。」
