亞哈有七十個兒子在撒馬利亞。耶戶寫信送到撒馬利亞，通知耶斯列的首領，就是長老和教養亞哈眾子的人，說：「你們那裏既有你們主人的眾子和車馬、器械、堅固城，接了這信，就可以在你們主人的眾子中選擇一個賢能合宜的，使他坐他父親的位，你們也可以為你們主人的家爭戰。」他們卻甚懼怕，彼此說：「二王在他面前尚且站立不住，我們怎能站得住呢？」家宰、邑宰，和長老，並教養眾子的人，打發人去見耶戶，說：「我們是你的僕人，凡你所吩咐我們的都必遵行，我們不立誰作王，你看怎樣好就怎樣行。」耶戶又給他們寫信說：「你們若歸順我，聽從我的話，明日這時候，要將你們主人眾子的首級帶到耶斯列來見我。」那時王的兒子七十人都住在教養他們那城中的尊貴人家裏。信一到，他們就把王的七十個兒子殺了，將首級裝在筐裏，送到在耶斯列的耶戶那裏。 (cunpt)

護衛長拿住大祭司西萊雅、副祭司西番亞，和三個把門的，又從城中拿住一個管理兵丁的官，並在城裏所遇常見王面的五個人和檢點國民軍長的書記，以及城裏遇見的國民六十個人。護衛長尼布撒拉旦將這些人帶到在利比拉的巴比倫王那裏。巴比倫王就把他們擊殺在哈馬地的利比拉。這樣，猶大人被擄去離開本地。 (cunpt)

亞達薛西年間，比施蘭、米特利達、他別，和他們的同黨上本奏告波斯王亞達薛西。本章是用亞蘭文字，亞蘭方言。省長利宏、書記伸帥要控告耶路撒冷人，也上本奏告亞達薛西王。省長利宏、書記伸帥，和同黨的底拿人、亞法薩提迦人、他毗拉人、亞法撒人、亞基衛人、巴比倫人、書珊迦人、底亥人、以攔人，和尊大的亞斯那巴所遷移、安置在撒馬利亞城，並大河西一帶地方的人等，上奏亞達薛西王說：「河西的臣民云云：王該知道，從王那裏上到我們這裏的猶大人，已經到耶路撒冷重建這反叛惡劣的城，築立根基，建造城牆。如今王該知道，他們若建造這城，城牆完畢就不再與王進貢，交課，納稅，終久王必受虧損。我們既食御鹽，不忍見王吃虧，因此奏告於王。請王考察先王的實錄，必在其上查知這城是反叛的城，與列王和各省有害；自古以來，其中常有悖逆的事，因此這城曾被拆毀。我們謹奏王知，這城若再建造，城牆完畢，河西之地王就無分了。」 (cunpt)

於是託亞哈的名寫信，用王的印印上，送給那些與拿伯同城居住的長老貴冑。信上寫着說：「你們當宣告禁食，叫拿伯坐在民間的高位上，又叫兩個匪徒坐在拿伯對面，作見證告他說：『你謗瀆神和王了』；隨後就把他拉出去用石頭打死。」那些與拿伯同城居住的長老貴冑得了耶洗別的信，就照信而行，宣告禁食，叫拿伯坐在民間的高位上。有兩個匪徒來，坐在拿伯的對面，當着眾民作見證告他說：「拿伯謗瀆神和王了！」眾人就把他拉到城外，用石頭打死。 (cunpt)

求文書給大馬士革的各會堂，若是找着信奉這道的人，無論男女，都准他捆綁帶到耶路撒冷。 (cunpt)
