音麦的儿子巴施户珥祭司在耶和华的殿中做总管。他听见耶利米预言这些事，便下令殴打耶利米先知，把他囚禁在耶和华殿的便雅悯上门处。

我每次说预言，都大声疾呼：“暴力和毁灭要来了！”我因传讲耶和华的话而终日遭受侮辱和讥笑。有时我打算不再提起耶和华，不再奉祂的名宣讲，但祂的话如一团火在我心中燃烧，憋在我骨头里，我无法忍住不说。我听见许多人窃窃私语：“看那个说‘四面有恐怖’的人，我们告发他！告发他！”我的好友都盼着我灭亡，说：“或许他会受骗，那样我们便能打倒他，一泄心头之恨。”但耶和华与我同在，祂像勇猛的战士。迫害我的人必一败涂地，羞愧难当，留下永远的耻辱。

但那些佃户却抓住他的奴仆，打伤一个，杀死一个，又用石头打死了一个。于是，园主又派更多的奴仆去，结果也遭到同样的对待。最后，园主派了自己的儿子去，心想，‘他们肯定会尊重我的儿子。’然而，那些佃户看见园主的儿子来了，就商量说，‘这是园主的继承人。来吧！我们杀掉他，占了他的产业！’于是，他们抓住他，把他推出园外杀了。

那时，祭司长和民间的长老正聚集在大祭司该亚法的府里，策划逮捕、杀害耶稣。

我责打你们的儿女，却是徒劳，因为他们不受管教。你们杀害你们的先知，残暴如狮子。

他们听了，怒气冲天，打算杀掉使徒。

祭司长和全公会的人正在寻找假证据来控告耶稣，好定祂死罪。虽然有很多假证人诬告祂，但都找不到真凭实据。最后有两个人上前高声说：“这个人曾经说过，‘我能拆毁圣殿，三天内把它重建起来。’”大祭司站起来质问耶稣：“你不回答吗？这些人作证控告你的是什么呢？”耶稣还是沉默不语。大祭司又对祂说：“我奉永活上帝的名命令你起誓告诉我们，你是不是上帝的儿子基督？”耶稣说：“如你所言。但我告诉你们，将来你们要看见人子坐在大能者的右边，驾着天上的云降临。”大祭司撕裂衣服，说：“祂亵渎了上帝！我们还需要什么证人呢？你们现在亲耳听见了祂说亵渎的话，你们看怎么办？”他们回应说：“祂该死！”

你的城墙内流满了众先知、众圣徒和地上一切被杀之人的血。”

耶和华说：“如果你与步行的人竞走，尚且感到疲乏，又怎能与马赛跑呢？如果你在宽阔之地尚且跌倒，在约旦河边的丛林中又会怎样呢？你的弟兄和家人都背叛了你，与你作对。任他们甜言蜜语，你不要相信。

他们说：“来！我们设计对付耶利米吧，反正我们有祭司教导律法，有智者出谋划策，有先知传讲预言。来吧！我们抨击他，不要理会他的话。”

其余的竟然抓住王的奴仆，把他们羞辱一番后杀了。

这样，你们自己证明自己是杀害先知之人的后代。去填满你们祖先的罪恶吧！你们这些蛇，这些毒蛇的后代啊，你们怎能逃脱地狱的刑罚呢？“看啊，我派先知、智者和律法教师到你们当中，有的会遭到你们的杀害，被你们钉在十字架上；有的会在会堂里被你们鞭打，被你们从这城追到那城。因此，所有义人在地上所流的血，就是从义人亚伯的血，直到你们在圣所和祭坛之间所杀的巴拉加的儿子撒迦利亚的血，都要归到你们身上。

他们却嘲弄耶和华上帝的使者，藐视祂的话，嘲笑祂的先知，以致祂的愤怒临到祂的子民身上，无可挽救。

我好像一只被牵去宰杀的驯良羊羔，不知他们要谋害我。他们说：“我们把这棵树连果子一同毁灭，从世上除掉它，使它被遗忘吧！”然而，审判公正、洞察肺腑心肠的万军之耶和华啊，愿我能看见你报应他们，因为我已向你陈明我的冤屈。亚拿突人想杀我，他们威胁我说：“你不要奉耶和华的名说预言，免得死在我们手上。”因此，万军之耶和华说：“看啊，我必惩罚他们。他们的青年必丧身刀下，他们的子女必死于饥荒，
