In spite of that, Ahikam stood up for Jeremiah. Ahikam was the son of Shaphan. Because of Ahikam, Jeremiah wasn’t handed over to the people to be put to death.

我是日使爾對於猶大通國、君王牧伯、祭司庶民、為堅城鐵柱銅垣、彼必攻爾而不勝、蓋我與爾偕、以拯爾也、耶和華言之矣、

昔耶洗別滅耶和華諸先知、俄巴底匿先知百人於穴、每穴五十人、以餅與水供之、

曰、猶太人相約、求爾明日曳保羅至公會、若將詳詰其情者、乞勿從之、蓋其中有四十餘人、設伏伺之、且誓而自呪、不殺保羅、不食不飲、今已備矣、惟冀爾許之耳、千夫長遣少者去、戒之曰、爾以斯事報我、勿以告人、遂召百夫長二人、曰、備卒二百、騎七十、持戟者二百、今夜亥初、往該撒利亞、且備畜使保羅乘之、護至方伯腓力斯、又遺以書、其畧曰、革老丟呂西亞、請方伯腓力斯大人安、此人為猶太人所執、將殺之、我聞其為羅馬人、率軍士往拯之、欲知訟之之故、引之至其公會、見所訟者、祇辯論其律、非為當死當繫之事、或以將害斯人之計告我、我即遣就爾、亦命訟之者、告於爾前、○軍士奉命、攜保羅夜至安提帕底、次日、騎兵送之、餘者歸營、至該撒利亞、呈書方伯、使保羅立於前、方伯覽畢、問為何省人、知其屬基利家、曰、訟爾者至、我將聽爾、遂命守之於希律公廨、

百夫長欲救保羅、阻其所謀、命能泅者先下水登岸、

將有遺民出自耶路撒冷、免難之人出自錫安山、萬軍之耶和華熱中、必成斯事、故耶和華指亞述王曰、彼必不至此城、不射一矢於彼、不執干至其前、不築壘以攻之、

耶和華歟、爾悉之矣、願爾記憶我、眷顧我、報復於窘我者、勿以恆忍、俾我滅亡、我為爾故、既受謗瀆、爾其知之、萬軍之上帝耶和華歟、我乃稱以爾名、我得爾言以為飲食、斯言在於我心、為我之歡欣喜樂、歡娛之會、我未同坐、亦未偕樂、為爾之手、我乃獨坐、蓋爾充我以怒也、我之痛苦、奚久不已、我之創傷、何為不瘳、爾之於我、果如無常之溪、無水之井乎、○耶和華曰、爾若歸誠、我必導爾復立我前、爾若取貴者於劣者中、則可為我口、民必歸爾、爾勿歸彼、我將使爾於斯民、為鞏固之銅垣、彼必攻爾而不勝、蓋我與爾偕、以拯爾也、耶和華言之矣、我必拯爾於惡者之手、贖爾於暴者之手、

時、大起紛爭、千夫長恐保羅被眾扯裂、命軍士下、於眾中奪之、引之入營、○

乞恩准取之至耶路撒冷、將設伏於路而殺之、非斯都曰、保羅拘留該撒利亞、我將速返、
