Behold, I am against the prophets, declares the Lord, who use their tongues and declare,‘ declares the Lord.’

Yes,” declares the Lord,“ I am against the prophets who wag their own tongues and yet declare,‘ The Lord declares.’

Yes,” announces the Lord.“ I am against the prophets who speak their own words. But they still say,‘ Here is what the Lord says.’

I am against these smooth tongued prophets who say,‘ This prophecy is from the Lord!’

I am against the prophets”— the LORD’s declaration—“ who use their own tongues to make a declaration.

If a man should go about and utter wind and lies, saying,“ I will preach to you of wine and strong drink,” he would be the preacher for this people!

And the Lord said,‘ Who will entice Ahab the king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth-gilead?’ And one said one thing, and another said another.Then a spirit came forward and stood before the Lord, saying,‘ I will entice him.’ And the Lord said to him,‘ By what means?’And he said,‘ I will go out, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ And he said,‘ You are to entice him, and you shall succeed; go out and do so.’
