看哪，勇士啊！耶和華將要猛烈地拋擲你；他必把你緊緊抓住，

約雅斤登基的時候是十八歲，他在耶路撒冷作王三個月；他母親名叫尼護施他，是耶路撒冷人以利拿單的女兒。

如果他們問你：‘我們要去哪裡？’你就告訴他們：‘耶和華這樣說：該死亡的，就死亡；該被刀劍所殺的，就被刀劍所殺；該遭遇饑荒的，就遭遇饑荒；該被擄的，就被擄去！’我要命定四種刑罰對付他們，就是刀劍殺戮，屍體被野狗拖走，被空中的飛鳥和地上的走獸吞吃與毀滅。”這是耶和華的宣告。“因猶大王希西家的兒子瑪拿西在耶路撒冷的所作所為，我必使地上萬國看見他們的遭遇就驚恐。”

約雅斤登基的時候，是八歲；他在耶路撒冷作王共三個月零十天，行耶和華看為惡的事。過了年，尼布甲尼撒派人去把約雅斤和耶和華殿裡的珍貴的器皿，一起帶到巴比倫來。他立了約雅斤的叔叔西底家，作猶大和耶路撒冷的王。

他們把牠放進籠裡，用鈎子帶到巴比倫王那裡，囚在獄中，使牠的聲音在以色列眾山上不再聽見。“‘你的母親像葡萄園裡（按照《馬索拉文本》，“葡萄園裡”作“在你血中”；現參照其他抄本和《七十士譯本》翻譯）的一棵葡萄樹，栽種在水邊；因為水源充足，結果纍纍、枝葉茂盛。它有粗壯的樹枝可作掌權者的杖；它樹身高大，超乎其他茂密枝葉之上；因為它樹身高大，枝子眾多，遠遠就可以看見。但這葡萄樹因神的烈怒被拔起，摔在地上；東風使它的果子枯乾散掉，粗壯的樹枝枯槁，被火吞滅。現在它被栽種在曠野，在乾旱無水之地。有火從樹枝中的一根發出，吞滅樹的果子，以致樹上再沒有粗壯的樹枝，可以作掌權者的杖。’這是一首哀歌，是一首流行的哀歌。”
