「以色列是奴隸嗎？是生來為奴的嗎？為什麼她竟成了別人的獵物呢？

“以色列豈是奴隸，或是在家中生的奴僕呢？為甚麼竟成了掠物呢？

『難道以色列是奴僕麼？或是家中生的奴僕麼？為甚麼他成為被掠之物呢？

以色列豈為厮僕乎、豈為家奴乎、何為被虜耶、

以色列族、詎同家之厮養乎、何為被擄。

以色列民豈奴乎、豈家之厮養乎、何為遭遇刼奪、

Is Israel a servant, a slave by birth? Why then has he become plunder?

Are you people of Israel servants? You were not born as slaves, were you? Then why have you been carried off like stolen goods?

This is what the Lord says:“ Where is your mother’s certificate of divorce with which I sent her away? Or to which of my creditors did I sell you? Because of your sins you were sold; because of your transgressions your mother was sent away. (niv)
