Their land will be an object of horror and of lasting scorn; all who pass by will be appalled and will shake their heads.

So their land will become a horrible thing. People will make fun of it again and again. All those who pass by it will be shocked. They will shake their heads.

見予之人、必加戲笑、張吻而搖首曰、

我必使我僕巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒、率北方之眾、攻斯土之民、及四周鄰國、滅之殆盡、使見之者駭愕、皆作怨聲。

因我耶和華震怒、巴比倫傾圮、變為荒蕪、無人居處、凡過之者、見其災害、必駭異而作怨聲。

我必使此邑荒蕪、人發怨聲、過斯土者見此鞠凶、則驚愕欷歔不已。

凡過此有名之殿宇、必駭異、作怨憤之聲。如有詢及者曰、耶和華毀此殿、害此國也、曷故。

耶和華又曰、我指己而誓、破斯喇必變荒蕪、諸邑傾圮、為人駭異、譏剌咒詛。

以色列族恆誇其能、我必使彼、不能矜詡、令其山岡原隰、俱變荒坵、人蹤罕至、彼作不端、我所痛疾、必使其地、凄涼寂寞、俾知我乃耶和華、

暗利王之法度、爾乃恪守焉、亞哈家之愆尤、爾反則傚、與之同謀焉、故我必使爾邑荒蕪、人作怨恨之聲、昔爾為我民、後必為眾戮辱焉。

過者誚之、搖首曰、

當以我言告之曰、郇邑未字之女、藐視爾、戲笑爾、即耶路撒冷之女、其頷首也、亦適以欺爾。

我必拔斯民之根株、驅於所錫之地、我所成聖之殿、為籲我名之所者、必廢、使兆民作歌譏刺。凡過此有名之殿宇、必駭異、如有詢及者曰、耶和華燬此殿、害此國也、曷故。

我曰主歟、將至何時、曰、迨乎城垣傾圮、土地荒蕪、室廬寂寞、無人居之、

過者誚之、搖首曰、噫、爾毀殿、三日建之、

我必散爾於異邦、襲爾以白刃、荒寂爾居、掃除爾邑。爾既轉徙於敵國、則斯土荒寂、其壤可享安息。

告斯土之民曰、主耶和華言、耶路撒冷邑、及以色列居民、虐遇斯眾、致地荒蕪、食餅飲水、不敢少過、中心危懼、

以色列民蔑我法度、憾我禮儀、使其故土遠離、田疇荒寂、於斯時也、土地得享安息、待民服罪。

耶路撒冷城變為瓦礫。野犬藏於其中、猶大諸邑荒蕪、無人居處、我使之然。

硫磺及鹽、焚燬徧地、不得耕耘、無物產、無草萊、如所多馬、蛾摩拉、押馬、西編、為耶和華所怒、而使之傾覆者、

異邦人作歌譏刺、搖首以欺予、皆爾所使兮。

則耶和華必降災於爾、爰及子孫、實屬非常之事、即至久至重之殃、纏綿艱苦之病、

凡過耶路撒冷者、鼓掌搖首、作怨憤之聲、曰、天下素稱華國樂土者、非此邑乎。敵口孔張、切齒憤聲、曰、我所望者、今日之事、斯邑吞噬、我所目睹兮。

我必舉手使其居處荒蕪、較特拉之野尤甚、俾知我乃耶和華。
