Yet My people have forgotten Me. They burn incense to false idols that make them stumble in their ways on the ancient roads and walk on new paths, not the highway.

我的百姓竟忘记我，向假神烧香，使他们在所行的路上，在古道上绊跌，使他们行没有修筑的斜路，

然而我人民竟忘記了我，去向虛空的神燻祭，在他們的路上、往古的路途上、絆跌，去行偏的路徑，不是填高的道路，

惟我民忘我、焚香於虛無之物、蹶於故轍、致行未築之路、

我民忘予、焚香以敬偶像、舍平坦之舊道、而不由、行崎嶇之僻路、而顛趾。

我民忘我、焚香於虛無之神、人使之蹶於其道、即舊道、使行未平治之途、

Yet my people have forgotten me; they burn incense to worthless idols, which made them stumble in their ways, in the ancient paths. They made them walk in byways, on roads not built up.

But my people have forgotten me. They burn incense to worthless gods. Their gods made them trip and fall as they walked on the old paths. They made them use side roads instead of roads that were built up.

But my people have forgotten me; they make offerings to false gods; they made them stumble in their ways, in the ancient roads, and to walk into side roads, not the highway,

But my people are not so reliable, for they have deserted me; they burn incense to worthless idols. They have stumbled off the ancient highways and walk in muddy paths.

Yet my people have forgotten me. They burn incense to worthless idols that make them stumble in their ways on the ancient roads, and make them walk on new paths, not the highway.

For My people have forgotten Me, They burn incense to worthless gods. And they have stumbled in their ways, In the ancient roads, To walk on paths, Not on a highway,

“ Because My people have forgotten Me, They have burned incense to worthless idols. And they have caused themselves to stumble in their ways, From the ancient paths, To walk in pathways and not on a highway,

For my people have forgotten me, they have burned incense to false gods; and they have been made to stumble in their ways, in the ancient paths, to walk in bypaths, in a way not cast up;

Because my people hath forgotten me, they have burned incense to vanity, and they have caused them to stumble in their ways[ from] the ancient paths, to walk in paths,[ in] a way not cast up;

Yet my people have forgotten me and offered sacrifices to worthless idols! This makes them stumble along in the way they live and leave the old reliable path of their fathers. They have left them to walk in bypaths, in roads that are not smooth and level.

For my people have forgotten me. They have burned incense to false gods. They have been made to stumble in their ways, in the ancient paths, to walk in byways, in a way not built up,

This is what the Lord says: Stand by the roadways and look. Ask about the ancient paths: Which is the way to what is good? Then take it and find rest for yourselves. But they protested,“ We won’t!”

He said,“ Build it up, build it up, prepare the way, remove every obstacle from My people’s way.”

Can a young woman forget her jewelry or a bride her wedding sash? Yet My people have forgotten Me for countless days.

The more they called them, the more they departed from Me. They kept sacrificing to the Baals and burning offerings to idols.

“ You, on the other hand, have turned from the way. You have caused many to stumble by your instruction. You have violated the covenant of Levi,” says the Lord of Hosts.

They are worthless, a work to be mocked. At the time of their punishment they will be destroyed.

For My people have committed a double evil: They have abandoned Me, the fountain of living water, and dug cisterns for themselves, cracked cisterns that cannot hold water.

And I will punish her for the days of the Baals when she burned incense to them, put on her rings and jewelry, and went after her lovers, but forgot Me. This is the Lord’s declaration.

However, all the men who knew that their wives were burning incense to other gods, all the women standing by— a great assembly— and all the people who were living in the land of Egypt at Pathros answered Jeremiah,“ As for the word you spoke to us in the name of Yahweh, we are not going to listen to you!Instead, we will do everything we said we would: burn incense to the queen of heaven and offer drink offerings to her just as we, our fathers, our kings, and our officials did in Judah’s cities and in Jerusalem’s streets. Then we had enough food and good things and saw no disaster,but from the time we ceased to burn incense to the queen of heaven and to offer her drink offerings, we have lacked everything, and through sword and famine we have met our end.”And the women said,“ When we burned incense to the queen of heaven and poured out drink offerings to her, was it apart from our husbands’ knowledge that we made sacrificial cakes in her image and poured out drink offerings to her?”

Look, all of them are a delusion; their works are nonexistent; their images are wind and emptiness.

Lord, the hope of Israel, all who abandon You will be put to shame. All who turn away from Me will be written in the dirt, for they have abandoned the Lord, the fountain of living water.

This is your lot, what I have decreed for you— this is the Lord’s declaration— because you have forgotten Me and trusted in Falsehood.

for your iniquities and the iniquities of your fathers together,” says the Lord.“ Because they burned incense on the mountains and reproached Me on the hills, I will reward them fully for their former deeds.”

A sound is heard on the barren heights, the children of Israel weeping and begging for mercy, for they have perverted their way; they have forgotten the Lord their God.

Lord, my strength and my stronghold, my refuge in a time of distress, the nations will come to You from the ends of the earth, and they will say,“ Our fathers inherited only lies, worthless idols of no benefit at all.”

It is a noble thing not to eat meat, or drink wine, or do anything that makes your brother stumble.

This is what the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel, says:‘ As for you and your wives, you women have spoken with your mouths, and you men fulfilled it by your deeds, saying,“ We will keep our vows that we have made to burn incense to the queen of heaven and to pour out drink offerings for her.” Go ahead, confirm your vows! Pay your vows!’

The leaders of the people mislead them, and those they mislead are swallowed up.

Youths oppress My people, and women rule over them. My people, your leaders mislead you; they confuse the direction of your paths.

Go out, go out through the gates; prepare a way for the people! Build it up, build up the highway; clear away the stones! Raise a banner for the peoples.

he does not have to honor his father.’ In this way, you have revoked God’s word because of your tradition.

They have built high places to Baal on which to burn their children in the fire as burnt offerings to Baal, something I have never commanded or mentioned; I never entertained the thought.

Your own evil will discipline you; your own apostasies will reprimand you. Think it over and see how evil and bitter it is for you to abandon the Lord your God and to have no fear of Me. This is the declaration of the Lord God of Hosts.
