譬彼林木、植於溪旁、根延河畔、雖經炎熱、雖歷亢陽、不受其害、枝葉青蒼、結果不息。

必如樹木栽於水旁、根延河畔、不見炎熱、其葉青葱、乾旱之年、無所憂慮、結果不息、○

And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow every tree for food, whose leaf shall not whither, neither shall the fruit thereof fail: it shall bring forth new fruit every month, because the waters thereof issue out of the sanctuary; and the fruit thereof shall be for food, and the leaf thereof for healing.

But my horn hast thou exalted like the horn of the wild- ox: I am anointed with fresh oil.Mine eye also hath seen my desire on mine enemies, Mine ears have heard my desire of the evil- doers that rise up against me.The righteous shall flourish like the palm- tree: He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.They are planted in the house of Jehovah; They shall flourish in the courts of our God.They shall still bring forth fruit in old age; They shall be full of sap and green:To show that Jehovah is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.

The word of Jehovah that came to Jeremiah concerning the drought.Judah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish, they sit in black upon the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.And their nobles send their little ones to the waters: they come to the cisterns, and find no water; they return with their vessels empty; they are put to shame and confounded, and cover their heads.Because of the ground which is cracked, for that no rain hath been in the land, the plowmen are put to shame, they cover their heads.Yea, the hind also in the field calveth, and forsaketh her young, because there is no grass.And the wild asses stand on the bare heights, they pant for air like jackals; their eyes fail, because there is no herbage.
