For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh, but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, a salt land and not inhabited.

因他必像沙漠的杜松，不见福乐来到，却要住旷野干旱之处，无人居住的碱地。

他必像沙漠里的矮树，不见福乐来到；他要住在旷野干旱之处，无人居住的盐地。

这样的人毫无福乐，像沙漠中的灌木。他要住在旷野中干旱无人的盐碱地。

他必像沙漠裏的矮樹，不見福樂來到；他要住在曠野乾旱之處，無人居住的鹽地。

他正像原野上的杜松，福樂來到，他也看不見，他卻要住在曠野焦乾之處，無人居住之鹹地。

蓋彼必如沙漠之杜松、不沾膏澤、居於曠野乾燥之地、斥鹵之區、無人之處、

譬彼杜松、生於曠野、其地斥鹵、其壤燥烈、人蹤罕至、不沾膏澤。

必如焭獨人在曠野、不見福降、或作必如杜松生於曠野不見雨澤居於沙漠旱乾之處、無人居之滷地、

That person will be like a bush in the wastelands; they will not see prosperity when it comes. They will dwell in the parched places of the desert, in a salt land where no one lives.

They will be like a bush in a dry and empty land. They will not enjoy success when it comes. They will live in dry places in the desert. It is a land of salt where no one else lives.

He is like a shrub in the desert, and shall not see any good come. He shall dwell in the parched places of the wilderness, in an uninhabited salt land.

They are like stunted shrubs in the desert, with no hope for the future. They will live in the barren wilderness, in an uninhabited salty land.

He will be like a juniper in the Arabah; he cannot see when good comes but dwells in the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land where no one lives.

For he will be like a bush in the desert, And will not see when prosperity comes, But will live in stony wastes in the wilderness, A land of salt that is not inhabited.

and that the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, and a burning, that it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which Jehovah overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:

He shall not look upon the rivers, The flowing streams of honey and butter.

Whose home I have made the wilderness, And the salt land his dwelling- place?

Flee, save your lives, and be like the heath in the wilderness.

Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, Which withereth before it groweth up;Wherewith the reaper filleth not his hand, Nor he that bindeth sheaves, his bosom:Neither do they that go by say, The blessing of Jehovah be upon you; We bless you in the name of Jehovah.

Therefore as I live, saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, a possession of nettles, and saltpits, and a perpetual desolation: the residue of my people shall make a prey of them, and the remnant of my nation shall inherit them.

Then the captain on whose hand the king leaned answered the man of God, and said, Behold, if Jehovah should make windows in heaven, might this thing be? And he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof.

Can the rush grow up without mire? Can the flag grow without water?Whilst it is yet in its greenness, and not cut down, It withereth before any other herb.So are the paths of all that forget God; And the hope of the godless man shall perish:

He shall not depart out of darkness; The flame shall dry up his branches, And by the breath of God’s mouth shall he go away.Let him not trust in vanity, deceiving himself; For vanity shall be his recompense.It shall be accomplished before his time, And his branch shall not be green.He shall shake off his unripe grape as the vine, And shall cast off his flower as the olive- tree.For the company of the godless shall be barren, And fire shall consume the tents of bribery.

And Abimelech fought against the city all that day; and he took the city, and slew the people that were therein: and he beat down the city, and sowed it with salt.

For ye shall be as an oak whose leaf fadeth, and as a garden that hath no water.

and that captain answered the man of God, and said, Now, behold, if Jehovah should make windows in heaven, might such a thing be? and he said, Behold, thou shalt see it with thine eyes, but shalt not eat thereof:it came to pass even so unto him; for the people trod upon him in the gate, and he died.

But the miry places thereof, and the marshes thereof, shall not be healed; they shall be given up to salt.

The wicked are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

When the wicked spring as the grass, And when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; It is that they shall be destroyed for ever.
