葡萄木有什么用呢？能用它制造挂钩挂东西吗？它只能用来当柴烧。如果火已经烧了它的两头，中间也烧黑了，它还有什么用呢？它完好无损的时候，尚且不能用来制造工具，被火烧后岂不更没用了吗？

那时，约书亚穿着污秽的衣服站在天使面前。天使对侍立在周围的说：“脱掉他污秽的衣服。”他又对约书亚说：“看啊，我已除掉你的罪，我要给你穿上华美的衣服。”

这邪恶的百姓拒绝听我的话，一意孤行，跟随、供奉、祭拜别的神明，他们将像这腰带一样毫无用处。

他过去对你没有什么益处，但现在对你对我都有益处。
