I had been like a gentle lamb led off to be killed. I didn’t realize they had made plans against me. They had said,“ Let’s destroy the tree and its fruit. Let’s take away his life. Then his name won’t be remembered anymore.”

我却像柔顺的羊羔被牵到宰杀之地；我并不知道他们设计谋害我，说：“我们把树连果子都灭了吧！将他从活人之地剪除，使他的名不再被纪念。”

惟我若柔順之羔、被牽而就死地、不知彼謀害我曰、我儕其毀厥樹與果、絕之於生人之地、使其名不復見憶、

人謀害我、我昔不知、譬彼羔羊、其性柔順、將就死地、人曰、當滅其生命、若伐木剝果、使名不存。

其時我若柔順之羔羊、被牽至死地、我尚不知其謀害我、曰、盍滅之、如伐樹而毀其果、絕之於有生者之地、使其名不復記念、

Before this I had been like a docile lamb ready to be led to the slaughter. I did not know they were making plans to kill me. I did not know they were saying,“ Let’s destroy the tree along with its fruit! Let’s remove Jeremiah from the world of the living so people will not even be reminded of him any more.”

But I was like a gentle lamb that is led to the slaughter. I didn’t know that they had devised plans against me, saying,“ Let’s destroy the tree with its fruit, and let’s cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be no more remembered.”

I hear many people whispering,“ There is terror on every side! Bring charges against Jeremiah! Let’s bring charges against him!” All my friends are waiting for me to slip. They are saying,“ Perhaps he will be tricked into making a mistake. Then we’ll win out over him. We’ll get even with him.”

“ Come,” they say.“ Let’s destroy that whole nation. Then the name of Israel won’t be remembered anymore.”

They said,“ Come on. Let’s make plans against Jeremiah. We’ll still have priests to teach us the law. We’ll always have wise people to give us advice. We’ll have prophets to bring us messages from the Lord. So come on. Let’s speak out against Jeremiah. We shouldn’t pay any attention to what he says.”

He was treated badly and made to suffer. But he didn’t open his mouth. He was led away like a lamb to be killed. Sheep are silent while their wool is being cut off. In the same way, he didn’t open his mouth.He was arrested and sentenced to death. Then he was taken away. He was cut off from this life. He was punished for the sins of my people. Who among those who were living at that time tried to stop what was happening?

No human being understands how much it’s worth. It can’t be found anywhere in the world.

Here is something I am still sure of. I will see the Lord’ s goodness while I’m still alive.

At harvest time he sent a slave to the renters. They were supposed to give him some of the fruit of the vineyard. But the renters beat the slave. Then they sent him away with nothing.So the man sent another slave. They beat that one and treated him badly. They also sent him away with nothing.The man sent a third slave. The renters wounded him and threw him out.“ Then the owner of the vineyard said,‘ What should I do? I have a son, and I love him. I will send him. Maybe they will respect him.’“ But when the renters saw the son, they talked the matter over.‘ This is the one who will receive all the owner’s property someday,’ they said.‘ Let’s kill him. Then everything will be ours.’So they threw him out of the vineyard. And they killed him.“ What will the owner of the vineyard do to the renters?

Those who are evil hide and wait for godly people. They want to kill them.But the Lord will not leave the godly in their power. He will not let them be found guilty when they are brought into court.

So God will destroy you forever. He will grab you and pluck you from your tent. He will remove you from this life.

Then the chief priests met with the elders of the people. They met in the palace of Caiaphas, the high priest.They made plans to arrest Jesus secretly. They wanted to kill him.

May their family line come to an end. May their names be forgotten by those who live after them.

So now I can enjoy life here with you while I’m still living.

Those who are worthless use sinful methods. They make evil plans against poor people. They destroy them with their lies. They do it even when those people are right.

From the tribe of Gad will come Eliasaph, the son of Deuel.

I hear many people whispering,“ There is terror all around him!” Many have joined together against me. They plan to kill me.

Lord, I cry out to you. I say,“ You are my place of safety. You are everything I need in this life.”

The names of those who do right are used in blessings. But the names of those who do wrong will rot.

But when I tripped and fell, they were all very happy. Attackers gathered against me when I didn’t even know it. They kept on telling lies about me.

Those who do what is right will always be secure. They will be remembered forever.

All at once he followed her. He was like an ox going to be killed. He was like a deer stepping into a trap

I said,“ Lord, I’ll never see you again while I’m still alive. I’ll never see people anymore. I’ll never again be with those who live in this world.

After the 62‘ weeks,’ the Anointed King will be put to death. His followers will desert him. And everything he has will be taken away from him. The army of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the temple. The end will come like a flood. War will continue until the end. The Lord has ordered that many places be destroyed.
