Before this I had been like a docile lamb ready to be led to the slaughter. I did not know they were making plans to kill me. I did not know they were saying,“ Let’s destroy the tree along with its fruit! Let’s remove Jeremiah from the world of the living so people will not even be reminded of him any more.”

我却像柔顺的羊羔被牵到宰杀之地；我并不知道他们设计谋害我，说：“我们把树连果子都灭了吧！将他从活人之地剪除，使他的名不再被纪念。”

至于我，我却像一只驯良的羊羔，被牵到屠宰之地；我并不知道他们设计谋害我。他们说：“我们来把这树和果子（“果子”原文作“它的食物”）都毁灭吧，把它从活人之地剪除，使它的名不再被人记念。”

惟我若柔順之羔、被牽而就死地、不知彼謀害我曰、我儕其毀厥樹與果、絕之於生人之地、使其名不復見憶、

人謀害我、我昔不知、譬彼羔羊、其性柔順、將就死地、人曰、當滅其生命、若伐木剝果、使名不存。

其時我若柔順之羔羊、被牽至死地、我尚不知其謀害我、曰、盍滅之、如伐樹而毀其果、絕之於有生者之地、使其名不復記念、

I had been like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter; I did not realize that they had plotted against me, saying,“ Let us destroy the tree and its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name be remembered no more.”

I had been like a gentle lamb led off to be killed. I didn’t realize they had made plans against me. They had said,“ Let’s destroy the tree and its fruit. Let’s take away his life. Then his name won’t be remembered anymore.”

But I was like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter. I did not know it was against me they devised schemes, saying,“ Let us destroy the tree with its fruit, let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name be remembered no more.”

I was like a lamb being led to the slaughter. I had no idea that they were planning to kill me!“ Let’s destroy this man and all his words,” they said.“ Let’s cut him down, so his name will be forgotten forever.”

I hear many whispering words of intrigue against me. Those who would cause me terror are everywhere! They are saying,“ Come on, let’s publicly denounce him!” All my so-called friends are just watching for something that would lead to my downfall. They say,“ Perhaps he can be enticed into slipping up, so we can prevail over him and get our revenge on him.

They say,“ Come on, let’s annihilate them so they are no longer a nation! Then the name of Israel will be remembered no more.”

Then some people said,“ Come on! Let us consider how to deal with Jeremiah! There will still be priests to instruct us, wise men to give us advice, and prophets to declare God’s word. Come on! Let’s bring charges against him and get rid of him! Then we will not need to pay attention to anything he says.”

He was treated harshly and afflicted, but he did not even open his mouth. Like a lamb led to the slaughtering block, like a sheep silent before her shearers, he did not even open his mouth.He was led away after an unjust trial– but who even cared? Indeed, he was cut off from the land of the living; because of the rebellion of his own people he was wounded.

Mankind does not know its place; it cannot be found in the land of the living.

Where would I be if I did not believe I would experience the LORD’s favor in the land of the living?

When harvest time came, he sent a slave to the tenants so that they would give him his portion of the crop. However, the tenants beat his slave and sent him away empty- handed.So he sent another slave. They beat this one too, treated him outrageously, and sent him away empty- handed.So he sent still a third. They even wounded this one, and threw him out.Then the owner of the vineyard said,‘ What should I do? I will send my one dear son; perhaps they will respect him.’But when the tenants saw him, they said to one another,‘ This is the heir; let’s kill him so the inheritance will be ours!’So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What then will the owner of the vineyard do to them?

Evil men set an ambush for the godly and try to kill them.But the LORD does not surrender the godly, or allow them to be condemned in a court of law.

Yet God will make you a permanent heap of ruins. He will scoop you up and remove you from your home; he will uproot you from the land of the living.( Selah)

Then the chief priests and the elders of the people met together in the palace of the high priest, who was named Caiaphas.They planned to arrest Jesus by stealth and kill him.

May his descendants be cut off! May the memory of them be wiped out by the time the next generation arrives!

I will serve the LORD in the land of the living.

A deceiver’s methods are evil; he dreams up evil plans to ruin the poor with lies, even when the needy are in the right.

For I hear what so many are saying, the terrifying news that comes from every direction. When they plot together against me, they figure out how they can take my life.

I cry out to you, O LORD; I say,“ You are my shelter, my security in the land of the living.”

The memory of the righteous is a blessing, but the reputation of the wicked will rot.

But when I stumbled, they rejoiced and gathered together; they gathered together to ambush me. They tore at me without stopping to rest.

For he will never be upended; others will always remember one who is just.

Suddenly he went after her like an ox that goes to the slaughter, like a stag prancing into a trapper’s snare

“ I thought,‘ I will no longer see the LORD in the land of the living, I will no longer look on humankind with the inhabitants of the world.

Now after the sixty-two weeks, an anointed one will be cut off and have nothing. As for the city and the sanctuary, the people of the coming prince will destroy them. But his end will come speedily like a flood. Until the end of the war that has been decreed there will be destruction.
