「我立大地根基的時候，你在哪裡？你若那麼聰明，請告訴我。你可知道誰為大地定的尺寸？誰用準繩把它丈量？是什麼支撐大地的根基？誰為它安放的基石？當時晨星齊聲歌唱，眾天使都發出歡呼。

高天啊，你要讚美祂！穹蒼之上的水啊，你要讚美祂！願這一切都來讚美耶和華！因為祂一發命令便創造了萬物。

你身披光華如披外袍，你鋪展穹蒼如鋪幔子。

以下是耶和華關於以色列的啟示。鋪展穹蒼、奠立大地的根基、塑造人靈魂的耶和華說：

萬物都是藉著祂造的，受造之物沒有一樣不是藉著祂造的。

「主耶和華啊，看啊，你伸出大能的臂膀創造天地，你無所不能。

我親手奠立大地的根基，我的右手鋪展穹蒼。我一呼喚，它們都侍立一旁。

耶和華是王，祂身披威嚴；耶和華身披威嚴，腰束力量。世界堅立不動。

要稱謝那位用智慧創造諸天的，因為祂的慈愛永遠長存。要稱謝那位在水上鋪展大地的，因為祂的慈愛永遠長存。

祂把大地奠基於海中，建立在大水之上。

諸天靠祂的話而造，群星靠祂口中的氣而成。

耶和華啊，你的創造多麼繁多！你用智慧造了這一切，大地充滿了你創造的萬物。

上帝說：「水與水之間要有穹蒼，把水分開。」果然如此。上帝開闢了穹蒼，用穹蒼將水上下分開。上帝稱穹蒼為天空。晚上過去，早晨到來，這是第二天。上帝說：「天空下面的水要聚在一處，使乾地露出來。」果然如此。

因為萬物都是藉著祂創造的，天上的、地上的、有形的、無形的、作王的、統治的、執政的、掌權的，一切都是藉著祂也是為了祂而創造的。

祂一聲令下，天上大水湧動；祂使雲從地極升起，使閃電在雨中發出，祂從自己的倉庫吹出風來。

你的信實萬代長存；你創造了大地，使它恆久不變。

祂將北極鋪在空中，將地懸在虛無中；

誰升上高天又降下來？誰將風聚在掌中？誰將眾水裹在衣服裡？誰定了地的邊界？祂叫什麼名字？祂兒子叫什麼名字？你知道嗎？

是我造了大地，又造了地上的人；我親手鋪展穹蒼，佈置天上的萬象。

耶和華說：「在悅納的時候，我應允了你；在拯救的日子，我幫助了你。我要保護你，使你做我跟民眾立約的中保，復興家園，分配荒涼的產業。

在母腹中造你、救贖你的耶和華說：「我是創造萬物的耶和華，我獨自鋪展穹蒼，開闢大地。
