Then Zebul said to Gaal,“ Where is your big talk now? You said,‘ Who is Abimelek? Why should we be under his rule?’ Aren’t these the people you made fun of? Go out and fight against them!”

西布勒对他说：“你曾说，亚比米勒是谁，叫我们服侍他？你所夸的口在哪里呢？这不是你所藐视的民吗？你现在出去，与他们交战吧！”

西布勒对他说：“你所夸口的在哪里呢？你曾说：‘亚比米勒是谁，叫我们服事他呢？’这不是你所藐视的百姓吗？你现在出去，与他们交战吧！”

西布勒对他说：“你所夸口的在哪里呢？你曾说：‘亚比米勒是谁，叫我们服事他呢？’这不是你所藐视的百姓吗？你现在出去，与他们交战吧！”

西布勒说：“你的豪气哪里去了？你曾说，‘亚比米勒是谁，我们竟要服侍他？’这些不就是你讥笑的人吗？出去迎战吧！”

西布勒对他说：“你曾经说过：‘亚比米勒是谁，竟要我们服事他呢？’现在你说这话的嘴在哪里呢？这不是你轻视的人吗？现在请你出去与他们交战吧。”

西布勒對他說：「你曾說，亞比米勒是誰，叫我們服事他？你所誇的口在哪裏呢？這不是你所藐視的民嗎？你現在出去，與他們交戰吧！」

西布勒對他說：「你所誇口的在哪裏呢？你曾說：『亞比米勒是誰，叫我們服事他呢？』這不是你所藐視的百姓嗎？你現在出去，與他們交戰吧！」

西布勒對他說：「你所誇口的在哪裏呢？你曾說：『亞比米勒是誰，叫我們服事他呢？』這不是你所藐視的百姓嗎？你現在出去，與他們交戰吧！」

西布勒說：「你的豪氣哪裡去了？你曾說，『亞比米勒是誰，我們竟要服侍他？』這些不就是你譏笑的人嗎？出去迎戰吧！」

西布勒對他說：“你曾經說過：‘亞比米勒是誰，竟要我們服事他呢？’現在你說這話的嘴在哪裡呢？這不是你輕視的人嗎？現在請你出去與他們交戰吧。”

西布勒對他說：『你曾經說：「亞比米勒是誰，我們該服事他呀？」你那說這話的嘴在哪裏？這不是你所鄙視的人嗎？你現在出去，和他們交戰呀。』

西布勒曰、爾昔言亞比米勒為誰、而使我事之、爾之前言、今安在哉、此非爾所藐視之民乎、請出而與之戰、

西不曰、爾昔言亞庇米力為誰、曷為事之、至於今日、爾之前言何在。此非爾所蔑視者乎。今可出而與之戰。

西布勒謂之曰、爾曾言亞比米勒為誰、何為事之、今日爾之言安在、此非爾所藐視之人乎、可出而與之戰、

Then Zebul said to him,“ Where is your big talk now, you who said,‘ Who is Abimelek that we should be subject to him?’ Aren’t these the men you ridiculed? Go out and fight them!”

Then Zebul said to him,“ Where is your mouth now, you who said,‘ Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him?’ Are not these the people whom you despised? Go out now and fight with them.”

Then Zebul turned on him and asked,“ Now where is that big mouth of yours? Wasn’t it you that said,‘ Who is Abimelech, and why should we be his servants?’ The men you mocked are right outside the city! Go out and fight them!”

Zebul replied,“ What do you have to say now? You said,‘ Who is Abimelech that we should serve him?’ Aren’t these the troops you despised? Now go and fight them!”

Then Zebul said to him,“ Where then is your boasting with which you said,‘ Who is Abimelech that we should serve him?’ Is this not the people whom you rejected? Go out now and fight them!”

Then Zebul said to him,“ Where indeed is your mouth now, with which you said,‘ Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him?’ Are not these the people whom you despised? Go out, if you will, and fight with them now.”

Then said Zebul unto him, Where is now thy mouth, that thou saidst, Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him? is not this the people that thou hast despised? go out now, I pray, and fight with them.

Zebul replied,“ Where is your mouthing off now? You said,‘ Who is Abimelech that we should serve him?’ Aren’t these the people you despised? Now go and fight them!”

Then said Zebul unto him, Where[ is] now thy mouth, wherewith thou saidst, Who[ is] Abimelech, that we should serve him?[ is] not this the people that thou hast despised? go out, I pray now, and fight with them.

Zebul said to him,“ Where now are your bragging words,‘ Who is Abimelech that we should serve him?’ Are these not the men you insulted? Go out now and fight them!”

Then Zebul said to him,“ Now where is your mouth, that you said,‘ Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him?’ Isn’t this the people that you have despised? Please go out now and fight with them.”

Then Gaal, the son of Ebed, said,“ Who is Abimelek? And who is Shechem? Why should we citizens of Shechem be under Abimelek’s rule? Isn’t he Jerub- Baal’s son? Isn’t Zebul his helper? It would be better to serve the family of Hamor. He was the father of Shechem. So why should we serve Abimelek?I wish these people were under my command. Then I would get rid of Abimelek. I would say to him,‘ Call out your whole army!’ ”

Abner called out to Joab,“ Do you want our swords to keep on killing us off? Don’t you know that all this fighting will end in bitter feelings? How long will it be before you order your men to stop chasing their fellow Israelites?”Joab answered,“ It’s a good thing you spoke up. If you hadn’t, the men would have kept on chasing them until morning. And that’s just as sure as God is alive.”

After the battle, Amaziah sent messengers to Jehoash, the king of Israel. Jehoash was the son of Jehoahaz, the son of Jehu. Amaziah said,“ Come on. Let us face each other in battle.”But Jehoash, the king of Israel, answered Amaziah, the king of Judah. Jehoash said,“ A thorn bush in Lebanon sent a message to a cedar tree there. The thorn bush said,‘ Give your daughter to be married to my son.’ Then a wild animal in Lebanon came along. It crushed the thorn bush by walking on it.It’s true that you have won the battle over Edom. So you are proud. Enjoy your success while you can. But stay home and enjoy it! Why ask for trouble? Why bring yourself crashing down? Why bring Judah down with you?”But Amaziah wouldn’t listen. So Jehoash, the king of Israel, attacked. He and Amaziah, the king of Judah, faced each other in battle. The battle took place at Beth Shemesh in Judah.Israel drove Judah away. Every man ran home.Jehoash king of Israel captured Amaziah king of Judah at Beth Shemesh. Amaziah was the son of Joash. Joash was the son of Ahaziah. Jehoash went to Jerusalem. He broke down part of its wall. It’s the part that went from the Ephraim Gate to the Corner Gate. That part of the wall was 600 feet long.Jehoash took all the gold, silver and objects that were in the Lord’ s temple. He also took all those same kinds of things that were among the treasures of the royal palace. And he took prisoners. Then he returned to Samaria.

Then where are the gods you made for yourselves? Let them come when you are in trouble! Let them save you if they can! Judah, you have as many gods as you have towns.
