God stirred up animosity between Abimelek and the citizens of Shechem so that they acted treacherously against Abimelek.

Then God stirred up trouble between Abimelek and the citizens of Shechem. So they turned against Abimelek. They decided not to follow him anymore.

And God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the leaders of Shechem, and the leaders of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech,

禍哉！你這毀滅人的，自己倒不被毀滅；行事詭詐的，人倒不以詭詐待你。你毀滅罷休了，自己必被毀滅；你行完了詭詐，人必以詭詐待你。

耶和華使乖謬的靈攙入埃及中間；首領使埃及一切所做的都有差錯，好像醉酒之人嘔吐的時候東倒西歪一樣。

我必激動埃及人攻擊埃及人－弟兄攻擊弟兄，鄰舍攻擊鄰舍；這城攻擊那城，這國攻擊那國。

耶和華問他說：『你用何法呢？』他說：『我去，要在他眾先知口中作謊言的靈。』耶和華說：『這樣，你必能引誘他，你去如此行吧！』現在耶和華使謊言的靈入了你這些先知的口，並且耶和華已經命定降禍與你。」

耶和華的靈離開掃羅，有惡魔從耶和華那裏來擾亂他。掃羅的臣僕對他說：「現在有惡魔從神那裏來擾亂你。我們的主可以吩咐面前的臣僕，找一個善於彈琴的來，等神那裏來的惡魔臨到你身上的時候，使他用手彈琴，你就好了。」

因為你們怎樣論斷人，也必怎樣被論斷；你們用甚麼量器量給人，也必用甚麼量器量給你們。

王不肯依從百姓；這事乃出於神，為要應驗耶和華藉示羅人亞希雅對尼八兒子耶羅波安所說的話。

耶和華說：『誰去引誘以色列王亞哈上基列的拉末去陣亡呢？』這個就這樣說，那個就那樣說。隨後，有一個神靈出來，站在耶和華面前說：『我去引誘他。』耶和華問他說：『你用何法呢？』他說：『我去，要在他眾先知口中作謊言的靈。』耶和華說：『這樣，你必能引誘他，你去如此行吧！』現在耶和華使謊言的靈入了你這些先知的口，並且耶和華已經命定降禍與你。」

荊棘回答說：『你們若誠誠實實地膏我為王，就要投在我的蔭下；不然，願火從荊棘裏出來，燒滅黎巴嫩的香柏樹。』「現在你們立亞比米勒為王，若按誠實正直善待耶路‧巴力和他的全家，這就是酬他的勞。

故此，神就給他們一個生發錯誤的心，叫他們信從虛謊，使一切不信真理、倒喜愛不義的人都被定罪。

王不肯依從百姓，這事乃出於耶和華，為要應驗他藉示羅人亞希雅對尼八的兒子耶羅波安所說的話。

從這日起，掃羅就怒視大衛。次日，從神那裏來的惡魔大大降在掃羅身上，他就在家中胡言亂語。大衛照常彈琴，掃羅手裏拿着槍。

不然，願火從亞比米勒發出，燒滅示劍人和米羅眾人，又願火從示劍人和米羅人中出來，燒滅亞比米勒。」
