Then God stirred up trouble between Abimelek and the citizens of Shechem. So they turned against Abimelek. They decided not to follow him anymore.

And God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the leaders of Shechem, and the leaders of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech,

祸哉！你这毁灭人的，自己倒不被毁灭；行事诡诈的，人倒不以诡诈待你。你毁灭罢休了，自己必被毁灭；你行完了诡诈，人必以诡诈待你。

耶和华使乖谬的灵搀入埃及中间；首领使埃及一切所做的都有差错，好像醉酒之人呕吐的时候东倒西歪一样。

我必激动埃及人攻击埃及人，弟兄攻击弟兄，邻舍攻击邻舍；这城攻击那城，这国攻击那国。

耶和华问他说：‘你用何法呢？’他说：‘我去，要在他众先知口中作谎言的灵。’耶和华说：‘这样，你必能引诱他，你去如此行吧！’现在耶和华使谎言的灵入了你这些先知的口，并且耶和华已经命定降祸与你。”

耶和华的灵离开扫罗，有恶魔从耶和华那里来扰乱他。扫罗的臣仆对他说：“现在有恶魔从神那里来扰乱你。我们的主可以吩咐面前的臣仆，找一个善于弹琴的来，等神那里来的恶魔临到你身上的时候，使他用手弹琴，你就好了。”

因为你们怎样论断人，也必怎样被论断；你们用什么量器量给人，也必用什么量器量给你们。

王不肯依从百姓；这事乃出于神，为要应验耶和华藉示罗人亚希雅对尼八儿子耶罗波安所说的话。

耶和华说：‘谁去引诱以色列王亚哈上基列的拉末去阵亡呢？’这个就这样说，那个就那样说。随后，有一个神灵出来，站在耶和华面前说：‘我去引诱他。’耶和华问他说：‘你用何法呢？’他说：‘我去，要在他众先知口中作谎言的灵。’耶和华说：‘这样，你必能引诱他，你去如此行吧！’现在耶和华使谎言的灵入了你这些先知的口，并且耶和华已经命定降祸与你。”

荆棘回答说：‘你们若诚诚实实地膏我为王，就要投在我的荫下；不然，愿火从荆棘里出来，烧灭黎巴嫩的香柏树。’“现在你们立亚比米勒为王，若按诚实正直善待耶路巴力和他的全家，这就是酬他的劳。

故此，神就给他们一个生发错误的心，叫他们信从虚谎，使一切不信真理、倒喜爱不义的人都被定罪。

王不肯依从百姓，这事乃出于耶和华，为要应验他藉示罗人亚希雅对尼八的儿子耶罗波安所说的话。

从这日起，扫罗就怒视大卫。次日，从神那里来的恶魔大大降在扫罗身上，他就在家中胡言乱语。大卫照常弹琴，扫罗手里拿着枪。

不然，愿火从亚比米勒发出，烧灭示剑人和米罗众人，又愿火从示剑人和米罗人中出来，烧灭亚比米勒。”
