所有來到王面前請求審決的以色列人，押沙龍都是這樣對待他們。因此，押沙龍暗中迷惑了以色列人的心。

羅波安往示劍去，因為以色列眾人都到了示劍，要立他作王。

看哪！你的仇敵喧嘩，恨你的人都抬起頭來。他們密謀奸詐，陷害你的子民；他們彼此商議，攻擊你所寶貴的人。他們說：“來吧！我們來把他們除滅，使他們不再成國，使以色列的名不再被人記念。”
