人的骄傲必使他卑微；心里谦卑的，必得尊荣。

在亚拿的儿子珊迦的时候，在雅亿的日子，大道无人行走，行路的人绕道而行。

那日就像一个人避过了狮子，却遇上了熊；回到家里，手靠在墙上，却被蛇咬。耶和华的日子不是黑暗，没有光明，只有幽暗，全无光辉吗？

他的脚步必然狭窄，自己的计谋必把他绊倒；他的脚送自己进入网罗，他走在陷阱之上。圈套要缠住他的脚跟，网罗要罩在他身上。活扣为他藏在地里，羁绊为他埋在路上。惊骇四面恐吓他，并且追赶他的脚踪。他的气力因饥饿衰败，祸患预备使他跌倒。

我的神说：“恶人必没有平安。”

他把祭司剥衣掳去，倾覆有权有势的人。他除掉忠信人的言论，又除去老年人的辨别力。他把羞辱倾倒在王子上，又松开壮士的腰带。
