陳列行伍、攻以色列族、戰鬥之時、以色列族為非利士人所敗、亡於陣者、約四千人。民歸營時、以色列長老議曰、耶和華今日使我敗於非利士人前、曷故。盍攜耶和華約匱、自示羅至此、可援我於敵手。

米迦有上帝殿、遂作公服偶像、簡其一子、任為祭司。

子以金一千有百反其母。母曰、我為子已獻金於耶和華、以鑄偶像、及雕刻之形、故仍反於爾。

生子命名革順、蓋曰、我為旅於異地。○

昔上帝在人間、擇示羅之幕以駐蹕、今則遐棄之兮、尊榮之法匱、斯民所恃、茲為敵所遷兮、所得之民、怒之甚烈、俾亡於刃兮、

以色列族再行惡於耶和華前、耶和華付之於非利士人手、歷四十年。

雕刻鎔鑄之像、人工所作、耶和華所惡、有製而立於私地者、當服咒詛、民必群應曰、固心所願。

及其二子、其一摩西命名革順、蓋曰、我於異邦為旅、

爾上帝耶和華所錫之邑中、如有男女作惡、違爾上帝耶和華之約、服事崇拜他上帝、或日月、或天象、為我所禁者。既已風聞、則必諮諏詳察、如得其情、果行此惡於以色列中、則必攜行惡之男女、至於邑門、石擊致死。當殺之人、有二三人為證、必殺毋赦、證人惟一、則不可。證人必先擊之、眾民後擊之、致之於死、如是絕惡於爾中。○

勿作偶像、勿立偶像、勿勒像於石、而崇拜之、是我耶和華爾之上帝所禁。

使有異邦、其所經營之地、彼得而享之兮、爰訓厥民、守其禮儀、遵其律例、爾曹當頌美耶和華兮。

我既沒後、爾必喪心、違我所傳之道、作惡於耶和華前、爾所行為、干厥震怒、至於末期必遭禍患、我可逆料其如是。

毋雕偶像、天上地下水中百物、勿作像象之、

謂摩西曰、爾必返本、斯民既詣斯土、必遺棄我、背我所立之約、狥己私欲、從異邦人之上帝。
