米迦這人有一間神堂；他又製造了神諭像和家神像，給他的一個兒子授與聖職做他的祭司。

非利士人一打起仗來，以色列人就被擊敗，各向自己的帳棚逃跑；那一場擊殺大極了；以色列人中倒斃了三萬步兵。上帝的櫃被拿去；以利的兩個兒子何弗尼非尼哈也死了。

米迦就把那一千一百錠銀子還給他母親；他母親說：『我把這銀子分別為聖獻與永恆主，由我親手為我兒奉獻，去製造一座雕像、一座鑄像；現在，我再給你好啦。』

西坡拉生了一個兒子，摩西給他起名叫革舜，因為他說：『我在外地做了寄居的。』

他丟棄了示羅的帳幕，他在人間居住的帳棚；他又將他的能力交與人掠去，將他的榮美交在敵人手中。將他的人民送交與刀劍，又震怒他的產業。

以色列人又行了永恆主所看為壞的事，永恆主就把他們交在非利士人手中四十年。

『「造永恆主所厭惡、匠人的手所作的雕像或鑄像，暗中立着的、那人必受咒詛」；眾民都要答應說：「阿們。」

葉氏又帶着西坡拉的兩個兒子，一個名叫革舜，因為摩西說：『我在外人之地做了寄居的』；

『在你中間、在永恆主你的上帝所賜給你的任一座城內、若發現有男人或女人行永恆主你的上帝所看為壞的事，越犯了他的約，去事奉敬拜別的神，也拜日頭或月亮、或是任何天象、是我所沒有吩咐拜的；有人告訴了你，你也聽見了，那麼你就要仔細地查究；若這事實真地成立了，真有這可厭惡的事行於以色列中，那麼你就要將行這壞事的那個男人、或是女人、拉出來、到城門那裏，拿石頭打那男人或女人，打到他們死去。憑着兩個見證人或三個見證人的口、那該死的人就要被處死；只憑着一個見證人的口、是不可以被處死的。見證人要先下手，然後眾民也下手，將他處死。這樣，你就把那壞事從你中間肅清了。

『你們不可給自己作偶相，不可給自己立雕像和柱像，也不可在你們境內安上鏨像的石頭去跪拜；因為我永恆主是你們的上帝。

他將列國之地賜給他們，他們便將萬族之民勞碌得來的、擁為己業，為要使他們遵守他的律例，恪守他的律法。哈利路亞！

我知道我死了以後、你們一定會全然敗壞，偏離我所吩咐你們走的道路，行永恆主所看為壞的事，將你們手所作的去惹他發怒，那麼日後就必有災禍臨到你們身上來。』

『不可為你自己造雕像，也不可造上天、下地、及地底下水中任何物件的形像。

永恆主對摩西說：『看吧，你將要跟你列祖一同長眠了；這人民必起來，在他們所要去的地上、在那地的人中間、變節去服事外族人的神，離棄我，違背我的約、就是我同他們所立的。
