When he returned the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, she said,“ I solemnly consecrate my silver to the Lord for my son to make an image overlaid with silver. I will give it back to you.”

He gave the 28 pounds of silver back to his mother. She said to him,“ I’m making a promise to set apart my silver to the Lord. My son, I want you to use it to cover a statue of a god made out of wood or stone. That’s why I’ll give the silver back to you.”

And he restored the 1,100 pieces of silver to his mother. And his mother said,“ I dedicate the silver to the Lord from my hand for my son, to make a carved image and a metal image. Now therefore I will restore it to you.”

He returned the money to her, and she said,“ I now dedicate these silver coins to the Lord. In honor of my son, I will have an image carved and an idol cast.”

He returned the 1,100 pieces of silver to his mother, and his mother said,“ I personally consecrate the silver to the LORD for my son’s benefit to make a carved image and a silver idol. I will give it back to you.”

He then returned the 1,100 pieces of silver to his mother, and his mother said,“ I wholly consecrate the silver from my hand to the Lord for my son to make a carved image and a cast metal image; so now I will return them to you.”

So when he had returned the eleven hundred shekels of silver to his mother, his mother said,“ I had wholly dedicated the silver from my hand to the Lord for my son, to make a carved image and a molded image; now therefore, I will return it to you.”

And he restored the eleven hundred pieces of silver to his mother; and his mother said, I verily dedicate the silver unto Jehovah from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.

He returned the 1,100 pieces of silver to his mother, and his mother said,“ I personally consecrate the silver to the Lord for my son’s benefit to make a carved image overlaid with silver.”

And when he had restored the eleven hundred[ shekels] of silver to his mother, his mother said, I had wholly dedicated the silver unto the LORD from my hand for my son, to make a graven image and a molten image: now therefore I will restore it unto thee.

When he gave back to his mother the eleven hundred pieces of silver, his mother said,“ I solemnly dedicate this silver to the LORD. It will be for my son’s benefit. We will use it to make a carved image and a metal image.”

He restored the eleven hundred pieces of silver to his mother, then his mother said,“ I most certainly dedicate the silver to Yahweh from my hand for my son, to make a carved image and a molten image. Now therefore I will restore it to you.”

「不可為自己雕刻偶像，也不可做甚麼形像彷彿上天、下地，和地底下、水中的百物。

你們不可偏向虛無的神，也不可為自己鑄造神像。我是耶和華－你們的神。

你們不可做甚麼神像與我相配，不可為自己做金銀的神像。

眾民的風俗是虛空的；他們在樹林中用斧子砍伐一棵樹，匠人用手工造成偶像。他們用金銀妝飾它，用釘子和錘子釘穩，使它不動搖。它好像棕樹，是鏇成的，不能說話，不能行走，必須有人擡着。你們不要怕它；它不能降禍，也無力降福。

他們盡都是畜類，是愚昧的。偶像的訓誨算甚麼呢？偶像不過是木頭。

也要拆毀他們的祭壇，打碎他們的柱像，用火焚燒他們的木偶，砍下他們雕刻的神像，並將其名從那地方除滅。

米迦說：「現在我知道耶和華必賜福與我，因我有一個利未人作祭司。」

雕刻的偶像，人將它刻出來，有甚麼益處呢？鑄造的偶像就是虛謊的師傅。製造者倚靠這啞巴偶像有甚麼益處呢？對木偶說：醒起！對啞巴石像說：起來！那人有禍了！這個還能教訓人嗎？看哪，是包裹金銀的，其中毫無氣息。

「不可為自己鑄造神像。

你們究竟將誰比神，用甚麼形像與神比較呢？偶像是匠人鑄造，銀匠用金包裹，為它鑄造銀鍊。窮乏獻不起這樣供物的，就揀選不能朽壞的樹木，為自己尋找巧匠，立起不能搖動的偶像。你們豈不曾知道嗎？你們豈不曾聽見嗎？從起初豈沒有人告訴你們嗎？自從立地的根基，你們豈沒有明白嗎？神坐在地球大圈之上；地上的居民好像蝗蟲。他鋪張穹蒼如幔子，展開諸天如可住的帳棚。他使君王歸於虛無，使地上的審判官成為虛空。他們是剛才栽上，剛才種上，根也剛才扎在地裏，他一吹在其上，便都枯乾；旋風將他們吹去，像碎稭一樣。那聖者說：你們將誰比我，叫他與我相等呢？

假冒為善的宰牛，好像殺人，獻羊羔，好像打折狗項，獻供物，好像獻豬血，燒乳香，好像稱頌偶像。這等人揀選自己的道路，心裏喜悅行可憎惡的事。

製造雕刻偶像的盡都虛空；他們所喜悅的都無益處；他們的見證無所看見，無所知曉，他們便覺羞愧。誰製造神像，鑄造無益的偶像？看哪，他的同伴都必羞愧。工匠也不過是人，任他們聚會，任他們站立，都必懼怕，一同羞愧。鐵匠把鐵在火炭中燒熱，用鎚打鐵器，用他有力的膀臂錘成；他飢餓而無力，不喝水而發倦。木匠拉線，用筆劃出樣子，用鉋子鉋成形狀，用圓尺劃了模樣，仿照人的體態，做成人形，好住在房屋中。他砍伐香柏樹，又取柞樹和橡樹，在樹林中選定了一棵。他栽種松樹，得雨長養。這樹，人可用以燒火；他自己取些烤火，又燒着烤餅，而且做神像跪拜，做雕刻的偶像向它叩拜。他把一分燒在火中，把一分烤肉吃飽。自己烤火說：「啊哈，我暖和了，我見火了。」他用剩下的做了一神，就是雕刻的偶像。他向這偶像俯伏叩拜，禱告它說：「求你拯救我，因你是我的神。」他們不知道，也不思想；因為耶和華閉住他們的眼，不能看見，塞住他們的心，不能明白。誰心裏也不醒悟，也沒有知識，沒有聰明，能說：「我曾拿一分在火中燒了，在炭火上烤過餅；我也烤過肉吃。這剩下的，我豈要做可憎的物嗎？我豈可向木墩子叩拜呢？」他以灰為食，心中昏迷，使他偏邪，他不能自救，也不能說：「我右手中豈不是有虛謊嗎？」

他們對他說：「請你求問神，使我們知道所行的道路通達不通達。」

他們的偶像是金的，銀的，是人手所造的，有口卻不能言，有眼卻不能看，有耳卻不能聽，有鼻卻不能聞，有手卻不能摸，有腳卻不能走，有喉嚨也不能出聲。造他的要和他一樣；凡靠他的也要如此。

人要把你們趕出會堂，並且時候將到，凡殺你們的就以為是事奉神。
