And he was very thirsty, and he called upon the Lord and said,“ You have granted this great salvation by the hand of your servant, and shall I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?”

参孙甚觉口渴，就求告耶和华说：“你既藉仆人的手施行这么大的拯救，岂可任我渴死、落在未受割礼的人手中呢？”

参孙非常口渴，就求告耶和华说：“你既藉仆人的手施行这么大的拯救，现在我要渴死，落在未受割礼的人手中吗？”

渴甚、籲耶和華曰、爾既大拯爾僕、豈容渴死、使陷於未受割禮者之手乎。

Because he was very thirsty, he cried out to the Lord,“ You have given your servant this great victory. Must I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?”

Samson was very thirsty. So he cried out to the Lord. He said,“ You have helped me win this great battle. Do I have to die of thirst now? Must I fall into the power of people who haven’t even been circumcised? They aren’t your people.”

Samson was now very thirsty, and he cried out to the Lord,“ You have accomplished this great victory by the strength of your servant. Must I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of these pagans?”

He became very thirsty and called out to the LORD,“ You have accomplished this great victory through your servant. Must I now die of thirst and fall into the hands of the uncircumcised?”

Your servant has struck down both lions and bears, and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be like one of them, for he has defied the armies of the living God.”

Then David said in his heart,“ Now I shall perish one day by the hand of Saul. There is nothing better for me than that I should escape to the land of the Philistines. Then Saul will despair of seeking me any longer within the borders of Israel, and I shall escape out of his hand.”

So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations, a thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me, to keep me from becoming conceited.Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me.

For who is God, but the Lord? And who is a rock, except our God?—the God who equipped me with strength and made my way blameless.He made my feet like the feet of a deer and set me secure on the heights.He trains my hands for war, so that my arms can bend a bow of bronze.You have given me the shield of your salvation, and your right hand supported me, and your gentleness made me great.You gave a wide place for my steps under me, and my feet did not slip.I pursued my enemies and overtook them, and did not turn back till they were consumed.I thrust them through, so that they were not able to rise; they fell under my feet.For you equipped me with strength for the battle; you made those who rise against me sink under me.You made my enemies turn their backs to me, and those who hated me I destroyed.

and when the Egyptians see you, they will say,‘ This is his wife.’ Then they will kill me, but they will let you live.Say you are my sister, that it may go well with me because of you, and that my life may be spared for your sake.”

I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax; it is melted within my breast;my strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to my jaws; you lay me in the dust of death.

And what more shall I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets—

And David said to the men who stood by him,“ What shall be done for the man who kills this Philistine and takes away the reproach from Israel? For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?”

The sun rose upon him as he passed Penuel, limping because of his hip.
