So they all went to Gilgal, and in a solemn ceremony before the Lord they made Saul king. Then they offered peace offerings to the Lord, and Saul and all the Israelites were filled with joy.

It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God.

“ Now, O Lord my God, you have made me king instead of my father, David, but I am like a little child who doesn’t know his way around.And here I am in the midst of your own chosen people, a nation so great and numerous they cannot be counted!Give me an understanding heart so that I can govern your people well and know the difference between right and wrong. For who by himself is able to govern this great people of yours?”

If you need wisdom, ask our generous God, and he will give it to you. He will not rebuke you for asking.

But David learned of Saul’s plan and told Abiathar the priest to bring the ephod and ask the Lord what he should do.Then David prayed,“ O Lord, God of Israel, I have heard that Saul is planning to come and destroy Keilah because I am here.Will the leaders of Keilah betray me to him? And will Saul actually come as I have heard? O Lord, God of Israel, please tell me.” And the Lord said,“ He will come.”Again David asked,“ Will the leaders of Keilah betray me and my men to Saul?” And the Lord replied,“ Yes, they will betray you.”

Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
