我的上帝耶和华啊，你让仆人继承我父亲大卫的王位，但仆人还年幼无知，不懂得如何治理国家。仆人住在你所拣选的子民中，这些子民多得不可胜数。求你赐我智慧治理你的子民，并能辨别是非；不然，我又怎能治理你这众多的子民呢？”

如果你们谁缺少智慧，就当求慷慨施恩、不责备人的上帝，上帝必赐给他智慧。

大卫知道了扫罗的计谋，便吩咐祭司亚比亚他把以弗得带来，然后说：“耶和华，以色列的上帝啊，仆人听说扫罗要来毁灭基伊拉，因为我在这里。基伊拉的人会不会把我交给扫罗呢？扫罗是不是像我听说的那样要来这里呢？耶和华，以色列的上帝啊，求你告诉我。”耶和华说：“扫罗一定会来。”大卫又问耶和华：“基伊拉的人会不会把我和我的部下交给扫罗呢？”耶和华说：“他们一定会。”

一切良善的施予和完美的恩赐都是从天上，从众光之父那里来的。祂不像转动的影子变幻无常。
