But the Israelites said to the Lord,“ We have sinned. Do with us whatever you think best, but please rescue us now.”

But the Israelites replied to the Lord,“ We have sinned. Do to us what you think is best. But please save us now.”

And the people of Israel said to the Lord,“ We have sinned; do to us whatever seems good to you. Only please deliver us this day.”

But the Israelites pleaded with the Lord and said,“ We have sinned. Punish us as you see fit, only rescue us today from our enemies.”

But the Israelites said,“ We have sinned. Deal with us as you see fit; only rescue us today!”

Then the sons of Israel said to the Lord,“ We have sinned, do to us whatever seems good to You; only please save us this day.”

And the children of Israel said to the Lord,“ We have sinned! Do to us whatever seems best to You; only deliver us this day, we pray.”

And the children of Israel said unto Jehovah, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; only deliver us, we pray thee, this day.

But the Israelites said,“ We have sinned. Deal with us as You see fit; only deliver us today!”

And the children of Israel said unto the LORD, We have sinned: do thou unto us whatsoever seemeth good unto thee; deliver us only, we pray thee, this day.

But the Israelites said to the LORD,“ We have sinned. You do to us as you see fit, but deliver us today!”

The children of Israel said to Yahweh,“ We have sinned! Do to us whatever seems good to you; only deliver us, please, today.”

撒母耳就一五一十地告訴了他。以利說：「祂是耶和華，祂看怎樣好，就怎樣行吧。」

但如果我使祂不悅，我也甘願聽憑祂的處置。

現在我們既然落在你的手中，你們想怎樣對待我們就怎樣對待吧。」

我們要剛強，為我們的人民和我們上帝的城邑而奮勇作戰。願耶和華成全祂自己的旨意！」

我心想，你已經驅逐我離開你的面，但我要再瞻仰你的聖殿。

大衛統計了人口以後，內心不安，就對耶和華說：「我做這事犯了大罪。耶和華啊，求你赦免僕人的罪，我做了極其愚昧的事。」

他會當眾歌唱說，『我犯了罪，顛倒是非，祂卻沒有按我的罪報應我。

自掩其罪，必不亨通；痛改前非，必蒙憐憫。

上帝或許會施憐憫，收回烈怒，使我們不致滅亡，也未可知。」

大衛說：「我實在為難！不過我寧願落在耶和華的手中，也不願落在人的手中，因為耶和華有無限的憐憫。」

大衛對拿單說：「我得罪了耶和華。」拿單說：「耶和華已經赦免了你的罪，使你不致死亡。

「有誰對上帝說，『我受了管教，不會再犯罪；我不明白的事，求你指教我；我若行了惡事，必不再行』？
