约拿单对拿兵器的少年人说：“我们不如过到未受割礼人的防营那里去，或者耶和华为我们施展能力；因为耶和华使人得胜，不在乎人多人少。”

耶和华对约书亚说：“你不要因他们惧怕。明日这时，我必将他们交付以色列人全然杀了。你要砍断他们马的蹄筋，用火焚烧他们的车辆。”于是约书亚率领一切兵丁，在米伦水边突然向前攻打他们。耶和华将他们交在以色列人手里，以色列人就击杀他们，追赶他们到西顿大城，到米斯利弗玛音，直到东边米斯巴的平原，将他们击杀，没有留下一个。

他们若说：‘你们上到我们这里来’，这话就是我们的证据；我们便上去，因为耶和华将他们交在我们手里了。”

耶和华对约书亚说：“不要怕他们；因为我已将他们交在你手里，他们无一人能在你面前站立得住。”约书亚就终夜从吉甲上去，猛然临到他们那里。耶和华使他们在以色列人面前溃乱。约书亚在基遍大大地杀败他们，追赶他们，在伯和仑的上坡路击杀他们，直到亚西加和玛基大。

米该雅到王面前，王问他说：“米该雅啊，我们上去攻取基列的拉末可以不可以？”他回答说：“可以上去，必然得胜，耶和华必将那城交在王的手中。”
