若爾中有人智慧不足、當求天主、天主乃厚賜人而不責人者、必賜所求、

我又告爾、求則予爾、尋則遇之、叩門則為爾啟之、蓋凡求者必得、尋者必遇、叩門者必為之啟、爾中為父者、孰有子求餅而予之石乎、求魚而予之蛇以代魚乎、抑求卵而予以蠍乎、爾曹雖不善、尚知以善物予子、何況天主、不更以聖神予求之者乎、○

耶穌謂之曰、倘爾知天主之賜、及向爾言予我飲者為誰、則爾求之、其必以活水予爾、

圖富有者陷誘惑、罹網羅、墮無理有害之慾中即溺人於沈淪及滅亡者也、貪利為萬惡之根、有人慕之、則迷失於道、以多苦自刺、

有人獨處無子、無兄弟、然亦勞碌不已、雖得多財、目中不以為足、亦不自問曰、我不自享所得、我勞碌究為誰耶、此亦屬於虛、徒勞無益、

噫、富者乎、當哀哭號泣、因苦難將臨爾也、爾之財壞矣、爾之衣蠹矣、爾之金銀銹矣、此銹即攻爾之證、且將蝕爾之肉如火之焚、爾在此末日、但知積財、爾在此末日但知積財或作爾之積財乃為末日也穫爾田之傭、爾不給其值、其值髣髴有聲呼籲、刈穫者之怨聲、聞於撒罷阿特主耳矣、爾曹處世、奢侈宴樂、以快心志、乃如牲待屠宰之日也、或作爾在世奢侈宴樂如牲在屠宰之日尚快心志

凡貪非義之利者、俱行此道、非義之利、致人喪命、○
